As far as Im aware, it is possible to IV hydrocodone. If I understand correctly, there is no worry of histamine release like there is with codeine. However, there are many health concerns associated with shooting pills. Odds are, the only source of hydrocodone would be from crushing pills containing hydrocodone. Do your veins and the rest of your body a favor and don't inject pills. Its not safe... even with proper filtering, a bunch of stuff that shouldnt be injected directly into your veins makes it through. Please dont do this.

Well obviously the fillers, binders and acetaminophen would have to be removed, but I mean if you could do a clean extraction and get simply hydrocodone, it would be safe? Oh, and also, whats the deal with histamine release and codine? Thanks. The Mushroom Man
As far as I can tell, you could safely IV hydrocodone if you had a it in pure form. As far as codeine... it needs to go through first pass metabolism in the liver in order to be changed into morphine. So oral administation is the way to go with codeine. Besides, IV administration of codeine is dangerous. It causes a massive release of histamine which could result in death from the accumulation of fluid in the lungs, otherwise known as pulmonary edema. Do not IV codeine.

do you know WHY codeine mounts an immunological response? is its molecular structure significantly larger than other opiates? i don't get it
