yea actually, I used to drink sooo much mountain dew it was getting rediculous, so i just stopped drinking it all together, and the longer i'm going w/o it, the more energy i am having throughout the day. weird, isnt it?

    That's INSANE TRISH!!!

You can go a month without food, three days without water, but everybody knows the human body can only go 6 HOURS without caffeine (and what a horrible 6 hours that would be).

I've never been a coffee drinker, as I don't like it. But I drink soda occasionally because I think caffeine gives me an energy boost. Maybe it does or maybe it doesn't.

I think all stimulants, legal or otherwise, heighten your energy levels for a period of time and then let you crash.

the crash sucks. i know yesterday i had a cup of tea in the morning and a cup of coffee. i crashed so hard around 3 that all i wanted to do was go to bed and no............

cant do that when you have a million things to do. so i like the caffeine high but i dont like its low. therefore i generally try to avoid it

Too much caffeine can be a dangerous thing. I drink 2 to 3 cups every morning and usually don't experience any crashes. What really makes me crash is lunch - it seems that everyday for the two hours following lunch I'm just drained.

The reason why I say it is dangerous is that my god mother has narcalepsy (sp - sleep disorder). Well, she used to drink at least 2 pots of coffee per day for about 30 years, then gave up. she developed this disorder after quitting coffee and some doctors theorize that the caffeine prevented her from sleeping well over all those years and now that it is taken away, her body simply shuts down from time to time. pretty scary, we'll be having a conversation then without warning zzzzzzzzzzzzz

I'm addicted to the blended carmel coffe at a local coffe shop here. The best way to get a boost of energy is to exersize. Just a few jumping jacks will get you going.

yeh, i've been really exhausted all the time lately and i realized the other day that it started around the same time that i started drinking coffee again. well, and i think i'm on the low physical part of my biorhythem cycle too.

i only had 1/2 c today. i'm too weak to quit cold turkey

how long have you been off the java, trish?

I love my morning coffee far too much to give it up. I have cut down since I have been home with the kiddies. I used to work in a coffee shop, and it's too easy to drink a pot a day....

I never like caffeine, avoid it if I can, keeps me awake but I'm still tired. My roommate was the biggest caffeine-guzzler, so he was an even bigger insomniac than me and would be playing his online D&D games through the night till 9 in the morning. He'd often keep enough caffeine drinks stocked in the fridge to kill a bison.
