ive gotta a question

i have a dilema. My budget wont allow me to get a really nice pipe soon. So should i get a small glass or metal one, or wait for better quality?

Does it matter?

 

i would say wait until you can afford a good pipe...smoking with a metal pipe is just gross in my opinion...save up and get a good glass pipe

 

metal gets sooooo hot, go for a glass one. check out www.northwestglassart.com they have some nice quality glass art. hope this helps!

 

i would go with glass like timeoutofmind said metal gets really hot and then you wont want to smoke more than like one bowl with it. I personally like glass more. plus you can get really awesome lookin glass pipes. I love blown glass!! hahaha good luck looken for one!

Get a small glass one...don't waste your money on an expensive pipe.

 

It's been my experience that glass is the best smoke. But they are expensive and I am clumsy so they break. I like a wooden bowl too. The best bowl I've bought lately is a Monkey pipe. It swivels shut so you can carry it packed. The bowl is stainless steel encased in cherry wood. It has a resin catcher that you scrape clean for the resin smokers. It's vented so the bowl doesn't get hot and the stem is brass encased in cherry wood.. You can get them online.. Peace Love

Around here I can't find a glass bowl for less than $25. Of course there is only 1 head shop around here. The next closest one is about an hour away.

 

well lets see, you live in a cornfield with some cows...I'm guessin there aren't a lot of head shops there, but try to find a glass one. metal gets hot...tastes like poo and just isn't as lovely to look at. Small glass shouldn't run you more than $15-20...can you swing that?

Yes she is.. Yes glass is best, but I break them.. An alternative is the mineral bowl.. They are from India.. The bowl turns black over time.. The guy told me that once it's all black you crack it up and smoke it. I only paid $8.00 for it.. You have to run a pipe cleaner through it EVERY time or it will clog.. It tastes pretty good too. Kinda like soap smells..

All this talk makes me want to smoke my Monkey Pipe, since I broke my many-eth glass one. The head shop in town is beside the beauty salon, so I buy a piece of paraphanalia about every six weeks when I get a haircut.. I smoke and hike and camp etc. so I'm kinda hard on things.. This has been the most durable, lowest maintenance, best tasting, portable, doesn't smell, lowest clog. (besides glass) bowl I've gotten, that I can remember.. If size doesn't matter, you might consider a water bong, they are supposed to get you higher and purify the smoke.. I don't know.. I only wheeze when I smoke from a bong. Maybe it's TOO pure.. Just don't pay the $35 on this sight. I paid $25 for mine.. I saw some online for less. Peace Love

Meerschaum is actually the best material for smoking anything. It is made of a claylike material from Turkey and usually handcarved. It gradually absorbs the essence of whatever you smoke in it and enhances the experience each time you use it. They get more valuable as they are used. Only problem is that unless you can pick one up in Turkey or Greece, they tend to start in the $100 range, but once you have one, you'll never want another pipe. Take a look at www.meerschaum.com and some of the mini-pipes are only $5 + shipping--Really some awesome looking handcarves.

I have smoke out of everything imaginable. You can get real creative and make a pipe or a 2-liter bottle bong, the classic foil and toilet paper roll, steamroller, nuts and bolts or if your in a hurry a beer can pipe.
But a thick little glass piece works best and is cheap. Yes, they break, but you can get a padded pouch for it or make a pouch.
The clay pipes do give a good taste but they clog constantly and you are always searching for something that fits in it to unclog it.
Wood pipes just suck cuz your always burning the wood and it taste like ass.
metal pipes not only get hot but gives off a vapor type taste.
Most glass pieces are made pretty durable these days and all you get is the clean taste of green.

 

Steam Rollers. I had forgotten about those. Now I must have one. Remember Power Hitters? They burnt your joint up fast, but they were a lot of fun. I still have mine from High school (circa 1979). I bought one of these too http://www.bukket.com .. They are best if you put one hit in it at a time, because the second hit tastes nasty. But you Will be higher on a smeller amount of weed.

 

I loved power hitters! It was like a plastic bottle that you put your joint in and then squeezed it! Remember getting/giving shotguns??? Oh and stones! Kinda like a roach clip. And the giant paper in the "Up in Smoke" albulm. We used 2 oz's to roll that damned thing and the pot kept falling out and burning the carpet. Ah, the good ol' days. Whan a oz was $20.00 and you could still get afagastan and Thai-stix. And the ludes and pure acid. I could go on and on.....

 

I still have 2 stones. I'd forgottten about them 'til you said them. Now I must find them. The best paraphanalia I have is the homemade stuff. I took the corner from one of those free heavy little trash bags that say "DO NOT LItter" that hang from a knob on your dash. (if you have a knob). Duct taped the little end to a glass tube. Put a little piece rubber on the other end and put the Power Hitter in that. You use the big end of the triangle as a mask over your nose an mouth. Be careful not to blow your lungs up..

 

deffinatly get a glass one...its the way to go
