The past like 4 or 5 Dutches I've bought have been so stale that they've been unusable. I even stopped lickng them to moisten them, I used a sponge the past two times, even that's not good enough, they just always seem to fall apart, or crack!

At the cutting step is when I lose them, and it's getting annoying!! I can twist up a mean joint with E-Z Widers with no trouble at all, but blunts are not only more fun to roll, but they last longer and you can't get a few heads on them.

Can anyone recommend a better shit cigar that will work equally as good and not keep cheating me out of money! I'm not a cheapskate but I'm wasting a dollar on each cigar, a pack of e-z widers is a dollar and you get 25 of those!

Phillies? or I like to hallow out black and milds, burn very easy and last awhile. But they don't taste like a good ol' blunt wrap.

idk man, I'll give Phillies a shot, unless I just buy myself a whole box of Dutchmasters, that way I can know they'll be fresh, next question, how do I keep them fresh?

Use swisher cigarillos, they are the easiest to steal and are always fresh. I've never had a stale one, phillies however are almost always stale, and usually harder to roll.

staleness has nothing to do with brand... it has to do with how and where they are kept. try a different smoke shop/gas station.

i usually get white owl XL's because they come in their own hard plastic tube and stay fresh longer that way.

white owl xl's are the way to go. i've never had a problem with them. they burn nice and you can get a few heads on a decent blunt.

i work at a convenience store and there are definitely many, many stale cigars there. the problem is that the cigar companies wont always take them back if they're old. so just ask the person working how fresh they are. if they dont know, go some place where someone does.

I work at a convenience store too, and I always try to make sure the cigars I sell are nice and soft feeling through the plastic.

I like White Owl XL's too. Maybe try some Optimo's too, if you like the greenleaf cigars. Grenadiers are nice too.

Try buying them in the packs. It does depend on the store for the singles. Sometimes they sit there too long & get stale. A local mini mart here, always keeps the singles in the box they come in, but they tear off the top of the box which leaves the cigars in open air & become hard as a rock. I only smoke dutches, & buy the packs for freshness. Also if your buying a single, squeeze it lightly before you leave the store or pay for it. If it's hard & brittle tell them you want a new cigar.

the problem might just be that you are using a cutter thats not very sharp. get yourself a new sharp razorblade and you can probably salvage the blunt even if its going stale.

Yeah that's how it goes alright. Some places around here will open them to make sure they're not stale. It's pretty sweet.
