These forums are supposed to be a place where hippies come. Truth is, only a very small percentage of the people here actually have any hippy beliefs (free love, being comfortable with who you are, accepting others, non-judjementality, love, anti-war and anti-killing and anti-violence, love everyone, etc etc etc). I guess that's okay, but I noticed it. Example: Whenever I or some others make a post that's out of the norm for society (ie: any drinking, or sex-related posts made recently), everyone freaks out and goes "Oh you're too young" or "naive" or "immature" etc. I find it extremely disappointing, cuz lots of the time it's just like regular society in this place... Aanywho, just something I was thinking about. Go ahead and freak out about how annoying I am now, I could really care less...
Thats pretty interesting, i personally dont mind what you choose to do... I dont really understand this whole "half the people dont have hippy beliefs"... I think its far out what youre doing, and keep it up
that is true...i gues there just using there right of freedom of speech...and then people freak out just because u make a little spelling mistake...we need to just chill out...and dont be so negative...if u think the thread is tupid just keep it inside you...no need to hurt that person's feelings...just relax and pass the love around... take in each person's post as a building block to their personality... sooooo many people, diversity extends knowledge, learn or ignore, find out who's a jackass, never be serious, what are we talking about again?
i say do what you want just don't hurt anybody. hey, to each his/her own. i agree that people shouldn't freak out on you if you are doing what makes you happy but everybody still has an opinion and they are going to give it to you, its up to you if you want to accept it or not. but me, i love all you guys just how you are, so get down with your bad self and have fun!
I'm all about letting everyone have their opinions, but I think you can share your thoughts and still be polite or nicer about it...
but most people have trouble sharing their thaughts without coming across mean or rude. it can be kinda tuff to dissagree with someone nicely.
1.) Are you talking about the forum "Young Hippies" or the entire forums "Hip Forums"? Because if you're talking about the entie forums, it doesn't necessarily mean a place for hippies. It says "Hip" not "Hippies" 2.) I guess there are some "hippie" beliefs that you could say are hippie beliefs. Such as peaceful. But there are a lot that you really can't say are "hippie" beliefs. By doing so, you would just be stereotyping. Just my thoughts. -Peace
I know I know I know, but I mean there's so much negativity and personal attacks and crap, and it's so annoying. I'm not stereotyping, but in the 60's, actual hippies had many similar beliefs and stuff
not to sound old but thats life people will question you every step of your life. but you have the right idea, peace and love is what keeps good people together just don't let negative people bring you down!
i belive i have many "hippy belifs" but i do belive that anyone nomatter what age should not be drinking because i think it reuins people...but i will still let you do it and not say anythin about it...and about the sex...be safe ...thats all

well i think it has something to do with that true "hippys" dont exist. sorry, but that chapter in history is gone. the remains of it is ppl like you. posers who are too ignorint and into the image too know what it really means. i mean no offense by that, but its true.
There never has and never will be a perfect hippy. We are just a mixbag of individuals who stumbled on this place and found it agrees with us. I think you'll find many people never proffess to be hippys anyway, that and no one said you had to be a hippy to come here. Funny how all these people who are so into freedom of speech are the worst at taking anything negative. Would you rather everyone was oh so chirphy and only ever said nice things. Face it babe, that's not free speech. Everyone makes judgements (I distinctly remember you making reference to 'ageist assholes'). Some will be gracious enough to keep these to themselves and others not. All part and parcel of life. If you can't stand the heat get our of the kitchen KWIM? Sunburst, if you don't want people to attack you than don't write such stupid posts that most people could care less about. I don't wanna hear about all your nasty sex toys or your drunken fiascos with your preteen friends. If you insist on talking about it do so on the Beverage forum or the Love and Sex forum. The only reason I ever respond to any of your posts is because you usually end them with "What do you all think?" or something of that nature, and when you do that, I take it as an open invitation to express my views. Obviously, you are free to defend your escapades, but I have the freedom to criticize. I have gotten alot of flack my two years on this forum. I've bitched, been bitched at, criticized, demeaned, belittled, etc. etc. But the one thing I have NEVER done is complain or even wonder aloud when people do all these things back to me. I have defended myself, yes. But there is a difference between defending your views and outright denouncing the freedom of speech we have here. It's called KARMA hun--what I do comes back to me and what you do comes back to you. Don't dish it out if you can't take it.
I use my freedom of speech, and if people don't like it, use yours. But the world today is just too much to ignore. I see things everywhere that really have deeper meanings then there are and it really pisses the shit out of me.... and I don't give a damn if people want to deny everything because I know in my own mind that, although I don't like "sugarcoating" things, my thoughts are what I believe in. Acceptance is a big thing but man, people really piss me off sometimes just by coming in contact with certain ones. Just the way they act towards you. Anyone who knows me says that if i'm telling the truth, I am telling the truth and a lot of people I know look to me, a lot of them don't understand me, a lot of them I think are better than I am a person, and a lot of them I wish they would get off my back. Don't know if you know what I mean. I've never really liked people a whole lot in general, but once I get to know someone really well, I can deal with them. A stranger is a friend you've never met, I find that to be quite true, yet quite true, and it is better to live by it and find out a person isn't a friend, than to have never lived by it at all.
