Syra joined the army?! Wow, I'm surprised. Whats she going to do in the army? Tell her the HipForums hawks *IE: Me* Are impressed.
she joined cos she didn't want to be stuck in Ohio for the rest of her life/didnt want to move back in with her mom/couldnt find a job/had no money... I didnt want her to go but eh.. guess she didnt really have a choice.
Syras really smart though... you should talked her into joining the navy. She coulda become a meterologist or something like that. Meterologists have the most cushy jobs on earth... its guess work with some machine readouts. Anyway, I'm getting off topic, I hope things work out well for both of 'ya. I'm sure they will.
meteorologism sounds like fun. She actually wanted to join the air force but there weren't any air force recruiting stations for miles.
in the navy you're out at sea for months and months and months. i'd actually rather fight in iraq than rot on a boat.
you actually have sea shore rotations, and unless you VOLUNTEER for the unseen service (submarines) you aren't really rotting
true, but still, you'd never get to see any of your loved ones or friends for long long periods of time. ...which would happen if you were sent to Iraq, too.
1. edited my reply 2. you get 30 days for every year shore leave, you can save up 2 years of leave and have 2 months of family (or party) time 3. there is a navy reserve too you know 4. photographer is a job in the navy 5. so is cryptanylist (only reason I know all this shit)
Touche. Leave is standard with all military jobs. Army too. Army too. http://www.goarmy.com/JobDetail.do?id=1&fw=reservePs Army too. http://www.goarmy.com/JobDetail.do?id=97
well the job I want is CTI (Cryptographic technician; interpretive) basically it's a spoken word cryptographer a cryptanalyst (I know I can't spell it) is anyone who deals with hidden language or communication
I wanted to join the navy as a nuke... I'm smart enough, and I'm in great shape, so if things in school don't work out, its a life at sea for me. I don't really like military discipline though. I'm happy with all my vices.
tsujigiri (just because) didn't know that everyone knows about the army reserve, that is why I said too, to try to say that yes indeed ther was a place if perhaps one did not want to be full time and wanted to go navy but the navy job is safer but the navy crypto jobs (both CTI and CTT) are more accessable , you have more oppurtunities afterwards, more language options atm and they are safer jobs
see I don't think I have vices..... as for discipline I think I need a structured system I don't think I'd enjoy being a nuke really, everything I've seen on the DLAB looks pretty easy so I'm thinking I'd be good at that
