Hello everyone! I used to log onto this site all the time when I had my first set of dreads and I think I've been here a few times since. It's been a few years at least I think.

Well, my dreads are almost 9 months old. My other sets I took out after a few months, so this is the longest I've kept them. I don't know what's different this time other than I guess I was truly ready for them. I can see myself still having them after 5 years...maybe longer. lol Honestly I don't think I'll ever take them out. :)

I had backcombed them when I started them. Since then I've mostly neglected them, only separating them while in the shower. I've palmrollled here and there and tend to play with them a lot. I am also going to put in extensions in about a month (using human hair). I had struggled a bit with the decision because I like having my dreads do their own thing. But what won was that I really want them long. *shrugs*

I have 2 congos going on. I wanted that to happen so it's all good. One is a monster dread eating a smaller one and the other is two smaller dreads forming together.

Anyway, here is a picture of the back of my dreads that I took last week. I had just deep cleaned them and they felt so nice and healthy!

they look great! and they're not that short, give them time to grow on their own

PD: What happened to your dog?

Thanks luv. :) I know they're not all that short but I love the idea of having them longer. It's a bit vain, especially for me considering I'm not usually like that. lol

My poor Lia. She hurt her foot a few weeks ago and while the bandage is off (so air can get at the wound) her vet wanted her to wear the cone a bit longer. We call her the puppy with the thousand dollar foot (the vet bills came to $1100). You would never know she has a gash in her paw with how she runs around. lol

    *hugs*

those are sick! do what you want, not everyone is for extensions but if you want them, go for them.
