moody blues, emerson lake & palmer, zager and evans, s.h.i.n.t.o., lisa ray furukawa, jefferson airplane, yes, tangarene dream, gemini wolf, radioactive sandwidch, ach, no particular order, and there's a bunch more i can't remember or generally don't even know, the names of. biospher, some of their stuff, a-produce, coyote old man, robert mirabal, huffington horse, marry youngblood, steel eye span, the little band, mumbo gumbo, clannad, melonie, carol king, buffy st marie, joan biaz, anni d'franco, iris d'ment, ian anderson/jethro tull, anything with klaus shultze in it, yani, yattri, kitaro, spinal tap, blind lemon pie, the association, the london philharmonic, vinilla fudge, cream, the troggs, the fuggs, the mothers of invention, steppinwolf, more or less anything that features keyboards or tone generators, and doesn't feature snares, or lyrics that romantacize aggressiveness, i don't know if i can even pick just three but i guess i'd have to say

    moody blues
    tangarene dream
and for slightly more recent, most things tecno-ambient.

(tangarene dream ARE still going at it, (and still sounding damd good), so for that matter, well into his 70s, is ian anderson)

umphrey's mcgee is a name i haven't heard mentioned since the last time i listened to sam gorski's red heavin. i do think the're great. and that remends me of blue turtle seduction and cosmic wobble.

a couple of other bands along those lines i like.

natural breakdown, on the other hand, is a name i'm not familiar with.

They are a local band around the north east, from New Brunswick, New Jersey. They are my favorite band ever!!!

Their goal is to raise consciousness through sound and word. To bring crowds to intense peaks, through a winding river of sound. Like Nature breaks down rock over thousands of years, and how everything can be broken down to its base component, light. Natural Breakdown is a hopeful outlook and a call for change. They believe that the world is in need of some serious healing, and a strong vehicle for this shift is music. They want to break down the barriers between people and bridge the gap between performers/audience, to uncover that core experience of unity and oneness. They strive to bring people together for a unique and uplifting musical healing experience and hopefully spread the seeds of a brighter future in this time of great change.

They are amazing live, but they dont have a studio album yet.... not that they need one. Their live stuff can be heard and downloaded for free off of archive.org. or check out myspace.com/thenaturalbreakdown.
