The Israeli bombing of Lebanon, even the international airport of it's capital, Beirut, should provoke international outrage. This is all in retaliation for the kidnapping of three Israeli soldiers. An entire nation's economy and means of transportation have been disrupted over the kidnapping of three soldiers by a fringe terrorist group that the vast majority of Lebanese have no support for at all. Instead of attacking directly the perpetrators of the kidnapping, Israel indiscriminately attacks a nation, intending to show what they've been showing the world for the last half century, that they're the boss and Israeli lives are the only ones that have any value. Over a hundred people have already been killed by Israeli attacks.

Why is there so much animosity towards Israel in the Middle East and around the world? This is the reason. And why is there so much animosity towards the US? Because it almost unquestioningly supports Israel whenever it engages in such atrocities. In fact, this is the way that the US treats other countries on the world stage itself.

Lebanon has spent many years rebuilding after a devastating civil war. It now has a booming economy and a thriving tourist industry. Israel has already disrupted this in a few days, by bombing Beirut International Airport and sending residents of Beirut and other cities fleeing into the countryside to avoid Israeli bombing.

Israel has sent an extremely clear message to the rest of the world time and time again: that Israeli lives are of far superior value than others. It is a racist philosophy (Zionism) that was condemned as such by the United Nations decades ago.

Just as Lebanon was beginning to thrive again, Israel is determined to destroy its economy by bombing and a naval blockade, and destroying Lebanon's ability to have air links with the rest of the world. It's time for the world to rise up in outrage and protest the totally unjustified destruction of another country's economy and safety, and likewise to protest the American government's apathy about the whole affair. Enough is enough.

well, i wanna know something, was it the isreali military who bombed? or was it israeli terrorists. cause if its the military, then damn right israel was at major fault and something needs to be done, but if it was a terrorist group, then its just like the kidnappings and the govt and country had nothing to do with it so therew would be no use getting pissed off at them.

The Israelis with the full support of the US BUSHIT government is going to do what it wants, which is to get rid of Hezbolla & Hamas. Bushit and his right wing hawk fundamentalist industrialist coalition is ready to bring on Armageddon. All the puzzle pieces are in place, with complete IDIOTS running countries.

Diplomacy is a thing of the past, despite Bush adopting it as a mantra (while just pretending to practice diplomacy).

Some people are just hell bent on ending it all, cause as all cult followers evenutally discover, your megalomanic leader is setting the world up for the final battle. He's so stupid he doesn't even know what he's doing other than the bidding of Dick "shoot 'em up" Cheney and his daddy.

We are living in MOST interesting times.

    I hope you're strapped in...

Israel has already pretty much admitted it's a war. They've called the actions of Hezbolla an open declaration of war.

I agree, this time they've gone too far. What makes the lives of three soldiers worth killing over a hundred civillians?

It's pretty much World War III. This is just the beginnig of something huge that will last for years. It's part of an agenda years in the making, which is using the kidnapping of a few Israeli soldiers as the justification to murder possibly thousands of innocent women and children. I fear for humanity. I really do.

NPR just reported that Southern Beirut has been bombarded all morning, and that a few passenger planes have taken off from Beirut Airport in between bombardments by the Israeli Air Force. The Israeli Prime Minister said today that Israel will continue to bombard Lebanon until the Lebanese government disarms Hezbollah. According to NPR, at least 60 Lebanese civilians were wounded by Israeli bombing this morning.

It has always been one of the central pillars of the dispicable Zionist ideological agenda and precisely why every claim of desire for peace by Israel has been the most cynical of frauds.

It has tangible demonstration not only in the current display of illegal collective retribution against urban centers (Gaza and now Beirut) - explicitly established and ratified by Washington and London as Crimes against Humanity in the Nuremberg Principles to judge the same acts perpetrated by the Nazis - but also in Apartheid wall begun by Sharon to ensure seizure of more Palestinian land through "facts on the ground" (as he put it).

This state was founded on acts of terrorism (see: Irgun, Haganah & Stern Gang) and unmitigated colonialist ethnocide and has perpetuated itself, with impunity, through the same to the present day.

The greater the shame upon them for playing the eternal victims whilst actually victimising others.

No, zep, but you and every other American citizen finances it and its accountable war machine to the tune of nearly 3 billion dollars a year whether we like it or not.

The Israeli Air Force is trying to render the Beirut Airport unusable and is also doing the same thing for major traffic arteries in the country. It's also been bombing radio stations, power plants and exit routes from the country. All over 3 kidnapped soldiers. What a bunch of Zionist barbarians. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/13853565/

All acts of aggression against another sovereign state and illegal under the norms of international law. Goes to demonstrate all the more how false all rhetoric from London, Washington, and Tel Aviv concerning respect for the "rule of law" (which they consistently accuse other nations of disobeying) truly is.

And anyone wonders why all their neighbours have long considered them a threat to the region to be eliminated?

I think we should let Hezbolla & Hamas do whatever they want in that region. I think we, the US, should actually help them wipe Israel off the map. And then, when the Muslim terrorists have gotten their act together and attack the rest of the world, we will at least be able to claim that we helped the most vicious groups of terrorists that ever existed.
