Since the USA is the biggest producer of greenhouse gasses and carbon emmissions - I believe the rest of the world should force citizens of the USA to pay higher taxes when holidaying abroad. Everything from aviation taxes to
rental car tax, and hotel taxes for ellectrical goods use etc etc etc- If the USA will not take a lead on reducing carbon emmissions then the rest of the world should force the USA to pay.

The USA's answer to the kyoto treaty was that quotas should be arranged where rich countries could buy quota off poor countries but now we see that the USA is only willing to pay 50 cents a ton for carbon emissions

I have read the psuedo-science of those pushing manmade global warming, and have come to the conclusion that there is no evidence proving humans to be the cause of global warming. THAT is the true propaganda.

Europe is implementing polies this year to really affect the way we live - so that we pollute less - Britain is even becoming tougher than the rest of Europe - why - because without a world you dont even have an economy to worry about

The story was not based on anything said by the Californian government - and since California has always been one of the strictest states when it comes to environmental legislation (e.g. the state had a separate, stricter rule on car emissions standards) your statement makes even less sense.

The US doesn't even make the top ten of emissions per capita (excepting the US Virgin Islands, I have no idea what they are up to).

now scaled up you would think a population of some 60 million in britain multiplied by 5 to make the population of 300 million - would actually only equal 10% of all carbon emissions - so your figures are just plain wrong !

and personally I know there is strong and growing resentment toward the USA to fall in line from the roots up in world politics - and it aint gonna be too long before governments and diplomats start getting this beligerent with the USA too.

 

I find it strange how "global warming" has now become one of the greatest causes of alarm in the world. I personally would welcome isolationism myself. The US would have to redevelop their industrial base, become self sufficient and perhaps we would consider our own housekeeping before we sought to press our methods of government on the rest of the world.

 

Why doesn't the rest of the world just refuse US corporate investment or development in their countries if we are responsible for the upcoming thaw and demise of the planet? Wouldn't that be more responsible and efficient in confining US excesses to only the North American continent? Maybe it could save the polar bears?

 

Yea its funny though how many times us Americans have been begged to come save some European country. Why is it that they are so against us but still love to take our money. Where do you think most of the equipment made to reduce pollution was invented at? You guys are buying it from us. We here in the states are told our jobs are going overseas, because companies can do manufacturing there more easily without the environmental restricts placed on them here in the states...so who is going to be the bigger polluter.

Here in my area of northern california the lumber mills have closed down. At one time they were the largest employers in the area. Their mill equipment was sold to other countries. Because supposedly the companies could no longer continue milling and complying to current emission standards. Yet these foreign countries bought our equipment and purchased the rights to log our forests. Who is polluting now?

yeah so we paid you back with interest and infact just two months ago britain paid its entire war debt to the usa which it had paid since 1948

60 years of debt now we are free - but what American saw any of that money except your masters up in the whitehouse - where did the entire wealth of britains empire go - well to the USA and not to the people but to those handfull of citizens who owned the shipyards and factories that produced our war machine - think of it - 1/4 of the worlds wealth (at 1948 prices) we paid the USA
