    Alone, an Island I sit..........................
    No bridge connects to my shore.
    No wind brushes the hair of my palm trees
    Only sand to feel my way.

    Feet warmed in sunny solitude,
    waxing copious jade
    at hungry seagulls
    who know no shade.

    Thinking,......

    Wake me when I die.
    So at last, I can really see the sky,
    Heal the rain
    touch the Sun,...

    and forgive myself
    for forgetting what it was to be young.
