is weed relly more potent now then in the 60s?

i keep hearing that from all the bull shit health programs in school and i was wondering about this. can any of you guys give me an answer through experiance?

 

ive been smokin weed since i was like 10,, over 30 years,, an there is no question that yer average mid grade weed now is at the very least 5 times better than the weed i smoked at,,say 15..

simple genetics is why..

same as with any crop,, lil tweekin here an there an it only gets better..

It's true. Only I feel that it's a little exaggerated.

 

i dunno man,, i remember the sacks we got fer 35 an ounce back then,, i wouldnt smoke that nasty fuckin mexican dirt weed now if ya paid me 35 dollars,,much less pay for the shit..

i remember the first quality sensi i smoked was about 1978 or so,, came outta the swamps of south georgia,,brothers was chargin like 75 bucks a ounce fer it,, man it smelt just like a skunk..

but i swear,,lookin back on it,, it wernt no better than yer average middies nowdays..

 

Late 60's when I was living in SF, the Frisco weed would take about 2 minutes of tokin' to get stoned. Now like 2 or 3 hits stones ya. There weren't as many varieties of weed back then either. It all seemed the same - now ya got shit like purple haze, white widow, etc.

 

exactley,, them days wed smoke a 1/2 ounce tween 5 or 6 of us in a night,, now a 1/2 of a quarter of middies will stone 5 or 6 just as well..

 

Not sure about the 60s, but the 70s had Hawaiian, Colombian, Acapulco Gold, Panama Red.


Maui Wowee was as good as anything in my humble opinion.

 

Them 15$ kilo's are history.though the smoke was good the mexicans are adopting better growing methods.The reduction in penaltys for weed made hash less desirable cause it was still a felony.Hash and oil are scarce nowadays,where there is more good pot.

 

I would say its more potent. But I find it all tastes the same.
I really miss smokin Jamaican, Hawaiian, Mexican etc. because even though it
might not be as potent as today, it still had a different mind set from the flavour
of it, if you know what I mean.

 

I started smoking in 65'-from the Haight area in San Fran-I was dealin my way through high school-We paid 60.00 a kilo-2.2 lbs.--We would break down these bricks and make up a bunch of 20.00$-1 oz. bags-We would sit down at the beach' roll up the windows and roll joints the size of cigars and pass it around-the windows were completely smoked up-we could'nt open the windows cuz the tourists parked around us would smell it- so we sat in a hot car on a sunny day at the beach and nobody could see in or out-ever see Up In Smoke-?-that movie is factual-big joints -took alot to work-but-we had something else that is not around now-Owsley Acid-(the wizard of)-the laws have really changed -then ;1 joint could get ya prison time-it was in the same class as heroin!-LSD- was legal-till 67'-I sold alot of that too-just tryin to survive-while high-hard to hold a job when all the building are swaying-their windows melting and the boss's face is so distorted he looks like dog-the last time I smoked was in the early 80's in Hawaii- super strong- brought some home-it was easy then-on planes-So-From 1965 till 2002-I used-everything-I am now clean- 4 years and highly recommend it-you'll know when it when it's time to stop-hopefully-Life is good without it- who knew-?!
