i thought for a while it wasnt...but now i am hearing from people on the forums that it is...can someone please verify?
its jsut as addicting as your girlfrined/boyfriend. theres no physical addiction but you may enjoy them so you want more of them
yes more addictive than crack be safe man just stick to the crack pipe JK weed is not addictive or harmful and u smoke cigs which are at least 18484848884x worse
Listen jojo, the fact is that some people like it so much that they can, but wont stop, even if its fucking up their life. the withdrawal from habitual can be intense boredom (yes its an oxymoron but its true) and insomnia (if you habitually smoke before bed) as well as mood swings. however, addiction to weed is something that can be overcome with the right guidance and doesnt give you phsycial withdrawal symptoms. also, you dont try it and then 'have' to have more. its not like cigarettes where you have a few here and there and it compels you to smoke more. a weed addiction happens when you just happen to enjoy it every day of the week one week and then you realise that you love living that way, so you keep doing it every day and then all of a sudden people are telling you that you smoke it all the time and your like 'holy shit theyre right... oh well'. so weed addiction isnt something to be afraid of. the whole point is that if you are -aware- of it, then it will not happen. the problem is when people say its not addictive, so people think 'what the hell' and take it all the time, and then they cant stop. an addiction is overcome with willpower. you need to desire to stop. i can go without coffee, and have a headache, but if i wanted to quit, id just have to put up with those symptoms. however when your addicted to weed, the WHOLE PROBLEM is that you DONT want to quit. otherwise you just would. but a psychological addiction occurs WHEN you reach the point of not WANTING to stop in teh first place, in which case getting over the addiction requires yourself to use your will against the very essence of ITSELF. and wanting to quit is not going 'ok i want to quit'. its really saying to yourself, i dont need this intense entertainment. which as you can imagine is a bit awkward for many people. but yeh, to conclude, as long as your AWARE of it, its not gonna happen to you. most people in the world dont smoke habitually. but a large amount do, and it is a real problem that ruins real lives. so im gonna vote yes, yes to awareness
and trust me, i participate in a psychology forum and in the addiction section, every second post is someone coming in saying '' never knew pot could be addictive.. and now i cant stop!' or 'everyone said you couldnt get addicted to it, but i cant stop smokin!' but yeh its not going to be bad if you dont want it to, it only goes bad when you either dont know about the possible consequences, or dont care about teh possible consequences. everyone else can smoke whenever, and stop whenever because they are aware of their lives. but smoking a lot can make you lose touch.. if you let it. but you dont HAVE to lose touch, like with heroin or cocaine addictions, which force themselves apon you and are physically compelling to take in order and have horrible physical drives
If you think about it, ANYTHING is addictive. Sugar, caffeine, porn, computers, legos, salt, chocolate, television, cigarettes, alcohol, and weed. Just keep it in moderation and you shouldn't have to worry about the addiction aspect. When you find yourself saying how you NEED to take a hit, it's time to put the pipe down.
ah yes the traditional, chocolate is just as addictive as pot. well, while the system of addiction is the same, its like comparing an addiction to coffee with an addiction to crack cocaine. clearly there is a VERY big difference, despite both of them being physical addictions to stimulants.
Monosphere is right, moderation is the key. You can over do anything (some things more easily than others. it's easier to get addicted to crack than it is to weed, but it's easier to get addicted to weed than it is to chocolate).
I know this place that gives away free herb (and no, I'm not gonna tell you where it is)...and kids literally live on the streets there just for the free pot. Now, THAT my dear friends, is addiction.
ok jojo if you got anymore questions about weed or anyother drugs because you seem to be asking alot of questions and thats realy good man but go to this website www.erowid.org it will anwser pretty much and question and more if you need anything else feel free to post.
weed is absolutely non addictive, after smoking heavily for many years, i got busy for a few months, had a nice big bag lying around but just kept forgettting to smoke it, these days i smoke only on average every few months its impossible to get addicted to weed, however, if you have an addictive personality, you can get addicted to anything, wether its vidio games, chocolate, scary movies, or anything..so although weed isnt addictive, your personality might let you get addicted to anything.
and i do not recomend going to that site, some of the info there is dangerouse & innacurate.. theres a site i found which i think is www.marijuanaprocon.com that explains all the pros & cons of marijuana use ..wether its recreationaly, medicaly or industrialy
well here it is 4 ya, weed is not chemicaly addicting, u only really want it like candy. you like certain aspects of smoking or bieng hight wich ever, like people like the taste of candy of the feeling it brings em.
im a weekend/ evening smoker, but i deal with several chronics on a daily basis. one starts smoking oil at 730 am every day, and he pays his rent and bills, but hes skating on thin ice at work because by 330 every day, hes so bitchy and lazy that no one wants to hear his bullshit anymore. hes also inherently critical of every new idea (ie. "that'll NEVER work"). the other is a dawn till bedtime joint smoker. Its futile to try and have a decent conversation with the guy, because when hes high (which is all the time), hes so lost in his own thoughts that he wont listen to what anyone else is saying. he ignores everyones opinion and will interrupt constantly to say whatever pops into his head. so to me constant daily smoking is idiotic. are they addicted? they both are the type to fire another hit as soon as they feel their buzz dropping off, so i think they are. not to mention that both of them smoke between 200 - 400 dollars a month worth of pot, which could surely be used for something else. i used to drink 400$ /month worth of liquor, and i thank god that i found other things to do with my time than drink for the rest of my life. all things in moderation.
