It's not necessarily normal, but I had the same thing. Never hurt though. Point is it's cool man. Don't worry.
It's actually fine if the erection is natural. If it's from Viagra or Cialis it means you're having a type of heart attack, people have had erections for longer. It's only after twelve or so hours that permanent damage occurs, or so I hear.
i've heard of someone's dick literally exploding from that happening. sometimes your hormone levels are just too high at that age. those blood vessels weren't meant to be stretched with blood for so long.
