no way, i was totally going to guess that, only i couldnt because i couldnt remember they were called the swiss gaurd. but i had a strong inkling it was one of the guards for the vatican.

 

the uniforms we think of as being worn by girls in catholic run schools, while common, would sometimes not fly in the vatican. a skirt must at least reach past the knee. shorts are not allowed in the vatican, and neither are sleeveless shirts....

there is actually a pretty strict dress code.

and while many schools may also require the girls skirts to reach below the knee, i see girls who attend catholic school around here walking home from the bus stop all the time, and many of them apparently do NOT require such a restriction (though its not like they're miniskirts or anything)



theres also no smoking allowed ANYWHERE in the vatican, period. indoors or out. at least, as far as i'm aware this is the case. i've not been there myself though.
