Well, the first one is 4mp as opposed to like 3ish... And I'd take the Nikon over a Canon anyway. I have a Coolpix, and it works great.
bedlam what alright well patrick i'll just see what they have at the store.. i dont appreciate you insulting my camera (the second one) that i've been madly in love with for the past few years until it was stolen.. ah, memories of becky and her camera
Hey! I love cameras, so I hope I can help. The main thing that stands out to me about these two camera's is that the Nikon has an optical and digital zoom while the Canon has ONLY a digital zoom. The difference here is that optical zoom magnifies the image in the camera using a zoom lens and a digital zoom only simulates a zoom lens by cropping into the picture. With digital zoom you are effectivly looking at a small piece of your cameras "unzoomed" picture. That means with digital zoom you are looking at fewer pixels when you zoom in, making the picture less detailed and blurry. The Canon you are looking at also starts out with fewer pixels, so when you use digital zoom it will make this effect more extreme. Anyhoo, I like high quality, sharp pictures (most of the time ) so I would personally go with the Nikon out of these two choices. I actually use a Canon most of the time and have been very pleased with it, but I wouldn't go with ANY camera with only digital zoom and no optical zoom. Ok, I hope that made sense and I hope it helped! Let us know what you choose, and have fun taking pictures!
it did make sense, thank you for the tip i bought the camera two days ago, it was a canon powershot A310, i got it because it's exactly like my old camera and 60 dollars less and came with a printer! here's a picture i took of it of my tomatoes (well, tomato ) dont mind all the bugs, they've been sprayed with soapy water
I still would have got the Nikon. You should have gotten a Nikon D100. Oh and haha I planted a ton of tomatoes a couple days ago.
yeah but.. they didnt have a nikon camera/printer deal.. and i love the way my camera looks i've taken thousands of pictures with my old camera it has so many memories of me and my cousin
there are 1876 pictures in my 'my pictures D)' folder.. thats not REALLY thousands but .. its still cool :H
I see that u bought one already... but i was gonna say megapixels are a big deal to me. anything u plan on posting on the net doesnt need to be any bigger than 2mp unless u really need to print 8x10 or bigger pics than 3 mp should keep u more than satisfied.
