no marijuana smoke only has resin in it if you smoke out of a glass peice. it's composition changes entirely if you don't smoke out of glass....

    i'm not serious.

why wouldn't a wooden bowl get resinated like anything else? if you've never seen the end of a blunt or joint get gooey, you must smoke some TERRIBLE pot...

all smoke has resin in it. some of it will stick to what it comes into contact with. any pipe will get gross eventually.

but if its a new peice and it's wood, it may darken from scorching the wood itself before much resin has had a chance to build up on it yet. dont scrape it once it does start building up, it will help protect the pipe from burning. just clear out the inside tube that could get clogged, not the bowl.

wasted resin? wooden pipes shouldnt have their bowls scraped. clean out the inside of the shaft all you want, but the bowl needs to season or else you'll just be smoking burning wood along with your pot, and it will eventually wear away at the pipe enough to destroy it. the last thing you should do is scrape out the bowl from a wooden pipe all the time, if not to protect the wood than to help prevent it from being TOO harsh and gross tasting....

besides, if something's building up in there, what the hell else is it going to be? mud?

though at first it may look more resinated than it is, because the wood will char along with forming (at first) a thin layer of resin.

the pipe will get resin but dont try to scrape it unless theres a ton but dont use a sharp object (e.x. a razor blade) use a a paper clip or a poker and apply a little pressure and get the exess resin.
