Is Oprah's show always intense?

'k, I messed up setting up a show to record with TIVO and ended up with today's Oprah show instead, so I watched it anyway. Can't believe that I found myself near tears over the topic. It was a group of women that had been sexually abused by their fathers and about what it had done to their lives. Just sad, sad, sad. My other half & I send a check (small! $25 tops) each month to our county's Humane Society. It was mentioned on the show that there are more animal shelters in the U.S. than there are battered women's shelters. We can't afford sending out more than we do, but I am going to discuss changing our monthly charitable contirbution to a women's shelter instead. That's it, I just wanted to share that the show and its topic really struck me. I plan on watching her more. Good night.

Yeah. She does some shows that make you realize more of the problems here. But then she does some really good ones. Gives people things who are actually in need of them.

 

I saw this one show where she had people pull her finger and she blew money out her ass..... wait that was Mad TV. Nevermind.

 

I don't really like Oprah. (ACH. how dare you!) I think she emotionally manipulates her audience.


I was on a panel on her show about 15 years ago, and I was not impressed by the womyn in person.

BTW, she didn't pay for any of those cars she "gave away" They were paid for by the manufacturer as a publicity stunt.

 

and most of the people who got those cars, cannot afford to pay the taxes on them.

 

She has done some good things. But she is a shameless self promotor, (nothing wrong with that, a lot of celebebrities are) and, like all talk show hosts, thrives on misery.

I haven't watched her show in years, too much emotional manipulation. And I really resent her half baked advice on parenting. When she used to compare parenting to taking "care" of her dogs, I stopped watching her show.

Oh, did I mention I HATE Dr. Phil?

 

I always watch Oprah. I absolutely love that show.

Dr. Philyoufullofcrap also sucked me in.

 

Love Oprah, love Dr Phil, love it love it love it.

 

I used to not watch her or Dr. Phil, but I do now. In fact, I just finished watching her. Jonny Depp was on (sighs). Now, I'm about 2 watch Dr. Phil.

Hmm I am more a jerry springer fan n Maury. Oprah really doesn't impress me. Dr. Phil was cool until he had Bush and his wife on the show... Other than that I miss Sally she was the shit.
