Take a look at some of my artwork on my website: http://www.shahspace.com/art.

Tell me if you think it's too morbid or freaky. What would you think of the artist if you just stumbled onto this website and saw the drawings: psychotic and disturbed or just another eccentric artist who's probably a nice guy in person?

I've been moving more and more away from this "dark" side of myself in the past year or two, and the more I do, the more self-conscious I become of my artwork.

Is this something I should be showing people or keeping to myself?

PS - it downloads slow. Will fix this in near future.

    I looked through them all
my favrotie of the actual morbid stuff was 'Bloody Bunny'
but my overall favorite was 'Fung Shway'
I also liked 'America Capitalism Commerce Technology Aliens' a lot

when you draw, try to express a clear idea or emotion
the works that spoke to me, I liked a lot more, a lot of them just seemed like 'hey, look how fucked up this is', those didn't interest me so much

Continue doing what you love to do and express yourself in whatever way you want. Don't worry about what other people think of your work and who cares how they percieve you. Art is about self expression, so show whatever it is you're feeling, regardless.

Not my kind of art but I agree, do whatever your self says it wants to do and fuck everyone else. I think your work would appeal to a vast range of people, of whom I am not one. That's all. Keep going!!

    Thanks for the feedback everyone.

I'm afraid I can't express a "clear idea" since that goes against what I want to do. I'm trying to keep the viewer a little confused - I want him/her to say "Is this supposed to make sense to me?" This doesn't have to involve anything morbid, and I think I'm going to be moving away from that in the future.

As for trying to be a "bad ass", you might have been right if I was still a teenager, but that's not really what I'm doing with my art now. If an image pops in my head and I think to myself 'hey, look how fucked up this is', it suddenly gets put into my "needs to be drawn" slot in my mind (at least, it used to). I don't know why. Maybe I'm just trying to impress others with how "fucked up" I can make things, or maybe I've been fixated on dark things too long because of past events and this is a sort of "catharsis" (I've always thought it was the latter). In any case, it shouldn't matter - what matters is, does the viewer agree that it's fucked up... and, more to the point, is this a good thing or a bad thing?

The execution of the work is nothing special, or maybe too special and hacked.
I still find your work quite interesting in an imaginative sense.

keep it up, let it flow

    ohh, that works too :D
well, whatever works for you, works for you

the best I can say is try different things, experiment, see what you like best, ya know?

I know with my poetry, I used to try to basically morbid and angsty and badass, and once I opened myself up more, I found that other things suited me much more
same with my style of writing even
and my most used style is not always well received, but it's what works for me, ya know?

my first thought was ... this guy must be from new orleans ...
i agree with many of the comments ... some great ideas, some more developed than others, some executed better than others ... but isn't that always the way with art ... i loved the cover piece and the water piece a lot, i thought the execution and ideas were quality work. if you are not from new orleans and wanted to sell your work via a gallery or shop, besides your local scene, that's where i would head if i were you ... nice work and thank you for sharing it!

I assume the "execution" is what professional artists call the actual creation of the artwork. Is this right?
