I am a teenage person in high school, and is curious about drugs. I have never tried any, and i know almost nothing about them. I was told that marijuana is not addictive. If i were to try it, would i be able to stop at any time, or is it like cigarettes, which are highly addictive?
Go do some proper research if you're interested. Just google it or watch some documentaries. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marijuana http://topdocumentaryfilms.com/category/drugs/ But as a quick answer, it's about as addictive as alcohol. Varies from person to person though, since you may get a hangover from alcohol you'll be reluctant to drink again but with cannabis you don't get a hangover in the same way, you may experience negative after effects though in the way that you'll feel different from your normal state. But I recommend you to read up before you ever try it, but you're not going to get "hooked" on cannabis like you maybe would on cigarettes.
I would just like to point out that alcohol is extremely addictive, psychologically and physically. It's up there with heroin and cocaine. cannabis is nowhere near that level of addictiveness.
In my personal experience, no it is not addictive. Canabis is the only thing I have experienced other than being a social miller lite drinker. I would recommend just not to get to use to the feeling you get to the point that you had rather be high than normal.
You can get psychologically addicted to anything pleasurable, from sex to chocolate to morphine. That's why one of my favorite sayings is "All things in moderation." But I've been regularly smoking pot for over 40 years and I haven't gotten physically addicted at all.
Speaking of doing research, that is a great book; From Chocolate to Morphine by Andrew Weil M.D. and Winifred Rosen. Highly recommended. Honest, no propaganda for or against drugs, just the facts about them and consequences of their use. You can find it on Amazon cheap.
I always heard it wasn't so much, and it was the tobacco that was the addictive bit- as is expected, I suppose. But otherwise, I don't know.
You do realize that you don't HAVE to add tobacco to your weed in order to smoke it don't you? I've never understood that myself and think it's lame to mix tobacco and weed.
Of course I know that, my point was that people might get confused with addiction to the drug to the tobacco they may smoke with it.
Question, what is the reasoning behind doing that? I can understand it with hash or hash oil (done that myself, hash oil cigs) but just rolling up weed with tobacco?
Since you are inexperienced with drugs some of these words like psychologically vs. Physically addictive probably make little sense to you even if you understand what they mean. Marijuana is not addictive and you can stop at any time but if its easy for you to get and especially if you have friends around you that do it you may end up doing it alot. many people use it alone to cure boredom or 'enhance' music, movies, video games, etc. I think its worth trying but its one of those things that once you try it there is no turning back. What I mean by that is if you try it and like it, it can start taking up a significant portion of your time and next thing you know your room has half empty eaten pizza boxes on the floor, bob Marley blacklight posters on the wall, hemp bracelets on the dresser and you will do strange and pointless things like play pink floyd on your iPod while watching the wizard of oz to see if they sync up.
You know, I really don't know where you're going with this people around here just smoke it with a bit of tobacco. If you don't that's great, and if you think it's pointless that's fine too, but some people don't smoke blunts solely I suppose.
Ahh, Ok, I understand now Yeah, around here (Wales, UK), everybody mixes it, it's quite rare you come across blunt smokers actually! To be fair I have a new found respect for Americas tolerance levels as of this moment
Mr. Writer has trumped you Anton145. Putting marijuana on par with alcohol is a serious bit of misinformation.
Yeah. not even close to one another, alcohol and weed. Alcohol can cause a physiological addiction and can result in DEATH if drinking is just abruptly stopped in hard core alcoholics. Marijuana "addiction" is a misnomer. The proper term would be "dependence" as there is really no true physical component to the habitual abuse of marijuana.
Yes, however, the anti drug propagandists insist on shoving the whole addiction dialog into the mix presumably to help pre-close minds regarding any debate related to legalization.
that is pointless. you can just download it pre-synced. i've done it once or twice. i must say it works much worse that way than smoking them each separately.
