People in homes with handguns more likely to be killed, major study finds "Researchers find ‘zero evidence’ that living in a home with a handgun offers protection". Actually, having a gun in the home more than doubles the risk of death .
Another ridiculous attempt to penalize the responsible and law abiding citizen for the actions of the irresponsible criminal menace. All it says is that criminals act criminally. And they do it against women often.
There ya go citing facts and scientific studies again. Facts can't compete with memes that offer no facts at all.
Did you even glance at the "study "? The conclusion is completely misleading. It should read that criminals with guns are more likely to use guns criminally.
@MeAgain Thoughts on anti vs pro gun and demographics “People that are raised in a home with out guns tend to be anti-gun ? Is your occupation likely to be associated with anti gun ideology ?
Perhaps you can provide a source for that quote that you attribute to George Washington. The only source I can find is from his Jan. 8, 1790, speech to Congress. As usual this meme is taken out of context, and misquoted to boot as the last part, after the comma, is completely made up. Here is the real quote, H was talking about establishing a standing army, not arming citizens to overthrow their own government. But, here I go again...sorry to introduce facts.
I really find it hard to converse with you on this subject, but I'll answer this one. I was raised in a hunting family. As a small lad my father's friends would gather at our house for small game season. My mother would cook a huge breakfast for a number of men, then they would take to the field outside our house and hunt pheasant and rabbits. When done they'd return with hunting jackets stuffed with small game and they would leave us a rabbit or pheasant in return for hunting on our ground and for the breakfast. My brothers have all hunted at some point and all own guns. My uncle, whom lived next door, would often bring out his rifle and shoot ground hogs in the farmer's field across the way and sometimes we'd be allowed to take a shot. He was an avid marksman and was banned from several block shoots as he always won. I don't know what your statement about people being raised in gun less homes has to do with anything. I've been retired for over 10 years now and was previously employed s a public school teacher. I don't know if you consider teachers to be anti gun as many schools have rifle ranges and employ many hunters, veterans, and marksmen. My daughter in law won many awards for markmen's ship in high school. As a teacher I used to cut rough stocks for a local gunsmith, had a student assemble a black powder gun, and I have fired black powder guns at the school rifle range. Of course this was long ago and most of that is prohibited now. My daughter in law used a bb or pellet gun, I forget which, as lead is outlawed in school rifle ranges.
So if Washington had said enslaving people, and creating a genocide of Native Americans, you would be ok with that.
Sorry guys, I thought we were at the part where we asked each other completely irrelevant and hypothetical questions.
