I've tripped on acid twice. It was amazing both times. I was planing on doing it again in the future but I recently learned that both my grandmother on my mother's side and one of the aunts on my father's side of the family both had schizophrenia. I know that LDS can't cause mental illness in people, but if there is an underlying mental illness it can help to bring it out. Is it safe for me to trip again. I was planning on not taking cid ever again, but I'd like to know the answer for sure.
If I were you I wouldn't overdo it. You might be ok if you don't do it all the time. But don't think that acid can only make you crazy if you have a latent illness. Bad trips can be a traumatic life long impression. It's all mental, if you bite off more than you can chew, then you could easily become very fucked.
its not safe as lsd I guess is a great trigger for schizophrenia... If you will develop it or not depends on how you live your life, stress, drugs etc...You might just let a substance make the disorder start when maybe you would never have developed it in the future. Thats the thing. You might wanna take lsd but really go easy on the pot you smoke during this time or just watch how you live. and maybe you dont even have a predisposition. But to know....ah
Good advice. Sheesh can be a trigger for schiz? Not that I don't believe you I just haven't heard much about it
anythin that stresses your mind , makes it go high then down , is risky, I guess. ive met a guy who ironically weed would lower his symptoms but they came back even stronger after.
As much as I support the use of psychdellics, I'd advise you not to do acid again, or any psychdellic for that matter. Probably shouldn't do any drugs. Two cases of mental illness in the familiy is two more then most families.
if you wait until youre in youre 20's though, and havnt had any episodes or anything like that, then you should be good to go
Hell yeah man, but that's what happened to him. He ate acid like candy, and an underlying case of schizophrenia. Those two don't tend to mix very well.
Syd Barret didn't have schizophrenia. he had a rare form of autism that most likely would have developed whether he took acid or not. of course the acid didn't help, it def brought it on quicker but in the same way it might have also influenced his exceptional creativity. but it was right when pink floyd started to get popular that he went nuts, he couldn't handle the publicity and fame, and thats what drove him to cut off all his ties and live his life completely out of the public eye.
man the federal goverment guidelines dont consider ya clinically insane till after 4 doses.. ,,.. hhehehee,.. whatever that means/.,./
Oh, I thought he had schizophrenia. Well any latent mental illness can come out faster and stronger if you use psychedelics all the time. I agree with everything you said completely.
i'm really interested in this because i think i might have schizophrenia... but i also JUST found someone who knows where to get acid. i hear my name yelled or whispered, and have almost constant minor visual distortions and occasionally see doors or shapes of hovering color that aren't there, although they vanish after about 5 seconds. if you were me, what would you guys do? i know what the people who already responded think... but what about some other people's opinions?
um well i can make stuff KIND OF there if i want to, like drift out of what most people thin of reality fairly easy but only if i want to.. but i dont have a problem with this stuff happening.
Don't really sound like schizophrenia, but then again there are a LOT of subtypes, and most of them aren't really related... As to the OP, have you been diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder? in which case i would say to lay off the drugs entirely. people who are schizoaffective carry the genetic predisposition (if your twin has schizophrenia you are something like 50% more likely to have schizoaffective disorder than someone in a random population sample)... Then again, you might have the genetic predisposition, but show no signs of it. Best to chill out in anycase, you really really don't want full blown schizophrenia (of almost any type)...
pris:Sounds like early symptoms to me. If they get worse seek professional help, and I wouldn't take LSD.
people thinking they are scizophrenic shouldn't take themselves so serious ! ... man everybody has got problems - don't make your mind important by saying you got what everyone and the whole world is about but can't admit. take acid and learn somthing about that scizophrenic mind of yours !!! ... everything psyche is illusion people - don't believe! and for all the others in this thread that say - be carefull and - go get some help ... shame on you!! ... seems like you don't undertsand yourselve - it's all about using your mind to believe a reality - if you gonna believe the world is scary and dangerous and insanity lies behind every corner - well - see you in a year when you are completely paranoid! ... man the world is fun - the mind is a toy and psychedelics are candy for godexperience ... use your head straight - but that doesn't mean - give it so much power till you get scared - it means - use it well! STOP SCARING THIS KID WITH YOUR PERSONAL FEARS AND ILLUSION! YOU ARE NOT WHAT YOU THINK YOU ARE!
Hey buddy how bout I was a psych major, on top of that, witnessed a friend who developed early symptoms also, that got worse from mushroom experiences. So why don't you take your head out of your ass and brush all that bullshit out of your teeth. If she wants to do it she's going to, but don't act like taking LSD isn't going to amplify mental problems. Personal fears, wtf do you know about me as a person? Nothing, you're a moron, please don't come in here and project, especially with such bullshit advice like that. yea everybody who's got any level of a shizo* disorder, take LSD man, you'll realize it's all just an illusion. You have no fuckin clue at all.
