Hi, I wonder if there is a benefit in cooling our feet by standing on a cold surface as tile floors...? Or is it preferable that our feet always stay nicely warm? The cold might stimulate, relax, ...??? Thanks for any comment! Stefan
I would definitely always pick warm over cold, because it's the warm that relaxes you, not the cold. But because I don't have a choice, I've learned to adapt to limited cold barefooting. In my experience, controlled (as in, keep it within sane limits) barefoot walking on snow has had a positive effect on my flu resistance and blood circulation. During the Holidays, I noticed that a flu tried to settle in. My body defeated the infection in a few days and I didn't even get a runny nose, or fever. Just a sore throat and some minor stuffiness. But I'm no medical professional and can't know for sure, so your mileage might vary. My theory is that since the bottoms of one's feet are a major end point to all sorts of nerves and vessels, stimulating that area is bound to do something good for you. You should exercise caution if you're going to experiment. Gangrene from frost bites is definitely a thing.
For me it's not desirable to be cold. But it is not to have shoes or a lot of clothes. So I'm cold quite often but I can get along with it. Have to get a jacket or alike soon though. If it gets colder here I think I can't do with my current clothes anymore. But I will avoid to get shoes as long as possible.
