Is it caused by some underlying problem?

alright, I'm new and everything, and I'm only fourteen, blah yeah whatever.
So anyhow, I've always been really rebellious and everything. I get into all sorts of trouble because I can't stand doing what teachers tell me. I was suspended for the last 13 days of my eighth grade year just before this summer.

I'm pretty popular at school. Not like preppy snob, but I'm just the long haired big guy who's always making people laugh, so I'm relatively cool with everyone. So I wanted to see if you kind folks could help me. Do you think that I'm constantly defying rules and directions because I need attention, or is it some kind of disorder? It's wayy more than most average "teenage rebellion" phase things. Thanks in advance

I was that way but not in school. Outside school I got in fights, has sex escapades, stole stuff and acted on impulse. I now know these were manic episodes that is a mental illness that can ruin peoples lives. It is treated with medicine. My episodes started in the 7th grade and went through 25 years of age.

Get it fixed before you ruin you chance to learn, get good grades, then make some money for a good life. See county mental health right-away. Mania seems funny but can end in....................hell
