Hi everyone, I hope you are all fine and happy today and everyday, Amen Q: © It is really unfortunate that the image of death is linked in our minds to perdition and the lonely life of the grave. Death really is a journey from the world of distress to that of liberty and from the world of earthly constraints, with its pains and problems, to the world of the happy and eternal beginning near to His ‘good pleasure’, for those who seek the spiritual pleasures of the upper world, and in Paradise for those who seek the material pleasures. What really uncovers the extent of the nearness of a man to his Lord is the attitude towards death. He who fears death actually fears the uncertain world that comes after it. This is why the Koran made longing for death a sign of those who claim to be friends of Allah, namely, the Children of Israel. Preparing for death is best started during youth years when the activity is at its peak. Otherwise, man may not be able to attain the higher ranks of perfection in the late years of his life when the body, as well as the will, grow weaker. Those who postpone repentance until after the end of the reckless years of youth are making a mistake. Can they guarantee life in the first place? And secondly, can they guarantee their repentance? Being aware of how short life is and the eventual vanishing of all its pleasures, the allowed and the disallowed ones, is an incentive to regard lightly its possessions. This is why the Tradition describes death as ‘the pleasures’ destroyer’. We are commanded to frequently remind ourselves of death so that we won’t be deceived by the life’s sweetness only to wake up at the time of the reckoning when it is too late. Satan tries, even in the last moments of man’s life, to take away from him the foundation of his happiness, which is the belief in Allah, when he fails to achieve it in the course of the man’s life. People trying to convince me death is wonderful usually have a cup of KoolAid in one hand and a gun in the other.
Erasmus70 First of all, Hi dear Erasmus, I am really so happy to see you in my threads The haddeth according to Sheikh Bukhari and Sheikh Muslim and many others is intact: Narrated `Imran: The Prophet said, "I looked into paradise and saw that the majority of its people were the poor (cat: whether women or men), and I looked into the Fire and found that the majority of its people were women." Narrated 'Abdullah b. Umar that the Messenger of Allah stated: O womenfolk, you should give charity and ask much forgiveness for I saw the majority amongst the dwellers of Hell are you. A wise lady among them said: Why is it, Messenger of Allah, that our folk is the majority of Hell people? Upon this the Prophet replied: You curse too much (in another version you do so much nagging) and are ungrateful to your spouses. Opinion: the people at the time the majority of them who are in hell are the women and the majority in paradise are the poor at the time. There are many other opinion and explanations. According to sheikh Jafar ASSubhani he rejected it, and he explained why he rejected it, he also added that as you know the prophet was among the Arab which the woman has totally no value in their sight before Islam, when the prophet gave the women so manyrights, some Arab dislikes it and that's why they attributed to the prophet such haddeths, I'll give you an example for an intact haddeth which points that some Arab still after embracing Islam dislike the rights which the women gained through Islam: Sahih Muslim:Abdullah b. Umar reported: I heard Allah's Messenger (May Peace be upon him) say: Don't prevent your women from going to the mosque when they seek your permission. Bilal b. 'Abdullah said: By Allah, we shall certainly prevent them. On this'Abdullah b. Umar turned towards him and swore him with a bad swearing as I had never heard him do before. He ('Abdullah b. Umar) said: I am narrating to you that which comes from the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) and you (have the audacity) to say: By Allah, we shall certainly prevent them. Sahih Muslim: Ibn 'Umar reported: 'The Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) said: Do not prevent the maid−servants of Allah from going to the mosque. Yet you find some haddeths which say it is better for the woman to pray in the darkest place in her house, and these haddeths about the darkest place is made up according to so many Sunnee scholars and they explained the reason in very long details. Sheikh Jafar ASSubhani (he is a shi'i) If this is the reason for the women for being the majority amongst the dwellers of Hellthen, actually such women are nagging, complaining etc, because their husbands aren't good with them! That's why they are behaving in this way, the husband have to grant his wife her rights of being his wife, (so the husband is sinner too not just the woman in this case) However, there are other opinions which make the haddeth unacceptable, many others accepted and they have their opinions and explanations and that women's number is large in comparison with males, accordingly they will be so etc etc etc, Plus the prophet stated that if any haddeth (after his death) will be attributed to him, refer to Quraan, and if it disagrees or contradicts with the Quraan then don't accept it (made up) and that he didn't say it. Quraan [16.97]: Whoever works righteousness, whether male or female, while he (or she) is a true believer verily, to him We will give a good life, and We shall pay them certainly a reward in proportion to the best of what they used to do Quraan [40.40]: "Whosoever does an evil deed, will not be requited except the like thereof, and whosoever does a righteous deed, whether male or female and is a true believer (in the Oneness of Allâh), such will enter Paradise, where they will be provided therein (with all things in abundance) without limit. Allah knows best ^^ What!!! Muhammad the messenger of Allah (pbuh)? If so, how is that? How old are you now? How does the prophet (pbuh) look like? If you heard that from him then this is indeed an intact Haddeth!!!! =) Peace and love Yours Sincerely, Cat Stevens Note: Silly, Irrelevant, and the like, responses, posts, comments will be ignored (it depends on my mood and time if I won't ignore them), taking off the topic is losers' style, ask yourself: will you write such response if the writer wasn't a Muslim!
Iconoclast Trying to convince you! what's wrong man...isn't wonderful, when you will try it you will know that...peace and loveTake careYours Sincerely,Cat Stevens
catstevens, what do you mean by that??? The hadith that erasmus quotes is undoubtley authentic, there is no room for either you or me or any muslim worth is name to deny the clear words of our beloved, may Allahs peace and blessing be upon his beloved soul. "It is not for a believer, man or woman, when Allah and His Messenger have decreed a matter that they should have any option in their decision. And whoever disobeys Allah and His Messenger, he has indeed strayed into a plain error". 33:36
My dear brother, Me too I thought that regarding Bukhari and Muslim, But Many scholars don't consider Al-Bukhari and Muslim as authentic as whole, I don't know if you can read Arabic, if you can't tell me so I will translate it: All of them are Sunnies There are others I hope you can read ArabicI don't give my own opinion I gave the opinion of those who consider it intact and who reject it, and I wrote Allah knows best...
I wrote the expalnation of the haddeth, This is the haddeth in Arabic my dear brother and you will find it in the Book (At-tafseer Al-Kabeer) by: Fakhr Ad-deen Al Razi volume 3 in his interpratation of the Holy Quraan ÇáÍÏíË ÑæÇå ÝÎÑ ÇáÏíä ÇáÑÇÒí Ýí ßÊÇÈå (ÇáÊÝÓíÑ ÇáßÈíÑ) ááÞÑÂä ÇáßÑíã Ì3 ¡ Úä ÇáäÈí (Õ) ÞÇá : ÅÐÇ Ñæí áßã Úäí ÍÏíË ÝÇÚÑÖæå Úáì ßÊÇÈ Çááå ÊÚÇáì ¡ ÝÅä æÇÝÞå ÝÇÞÈáæå ¡ æÅáÇ ÝÑÏæåThe haddeth points that the prophetic sayings shouldn't contradict the Holy Quraan, otherwise it is a made up. I think its very logical that the Haddeths shouldn't contradict the Quraan! I already answered this in my post # 4 However, I found an article regarding this Haddeeth, it is written by: Osama Abdullah © They claim that since Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him claimed what he saw in hell regarding most of the people in hell were women, then therefore Islam is a sexist religion that discriminates against women. First, we need to understand that Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him did not sentence any man or woman to hell or heaven. He only said what he saw. It was not of his own opinion. If Allah Almighty throws many women in hell because of their wickedness, then it is not Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him to be blamed. Sahih Bukhari, The book of Belief, Volume 1, Book 2, Number 28: Narrated Ibn 'Abbas: The Prophet said: "I was shown the Hell-fire and that the majority of its dwellers were women who were ungrateful." It was asked, "Do they disbelieve in Allah?" (or are they ungrateful to Allah?) He replied, "They are ungrateful to their husbands and are ungrateful for the favors and the good (charitable deeds) done to them. If you have always been good (benevolent) to one of them and then she sees something in you (not of her liking), she will say, 'I have never received any good from you." Sahih Bukhari, The book of Eclipses, Volume 2, Book 18, Number 161: Narrated 'Abdullah bin Abbas: …The Prophet replied, "I saw Paradise … I also saw the Hell-fire and I had never seen such a horrible sight. I saw that most of the inhabitants were women." The people asked, "O Allah's Apostle! Why is it so?" The Prophet replied, "Because of their ungratefulness." It was asked whether they are ungrateful to Allah. The Prophet said, "They are ungrateful to their companions of life (husbands) and ungrateful to good deeds. If you are benevolent to one of them throughout the life and if she sees anything (undesirable) in you, she will say, 'I have never had any good from you.' " Prophet Muhammad was very specific about why many women will end up in hell. The reason is because many women don't appreciate their husbands!. How good is a woman who doesn't appreciate her husband, and doesn't care about him enough, that if he does something bad to her, then she'll remember it for him for the rest of her life? How good is a woman who doesn't remember much of the good that her husband does for her? Women of that kind are not accepted in Islam. Women in Islam must honor their husbands and seek with their best ability their comfort. A woman who doesn't appreciate her husband is in reality treating him as a working slave for her and for their kids. Islam does not generalize against women. The sayings above were very specific and were only talking about a group of women, and not all women. Allah Almighty ordered men in the Noble Quran to take care of women and to protect them; " Men are the protectors and maintainers of women, because Allah has made one of them to excel the other, and because they spend (to support them) from their means. Therefore the righteous women are devoutly obedient (to Allah and to their husbands), and guard in the husbands absence what Allah orders them to guard (e.g. their chastity, their husbands property, etc.) (The Noble Quran 4:34)" Allah Almighty also ordered men in the Noble Quran to love and respect their wives; " O you who believe! You are forbidden to inherit women against their will, and you should not treat them with harshness, that you may take away part of what you have given them, except where they have been guilty of a proven adultery. You shall treat them nicely. If you dislike them, it may be that you dislike a thing and Allah brings through it a great deal of good. (The Noble Quran, 4:19)" "...Indeed the noblest of you in the sight of God (among men and women and races and nationalities) is the most the most righteous of you (The Noble Quran 49:13)" "Indeed, men who submit and women who submit, believing men and believing women, and men who obey and women who obey, and truthful men and truthful women, and men who persevere and women who persevere, and men who are humble and women who are humble, and men who give alms and women who give alms, and men who fast and women who fast, and men who guard their chastity and women who guard their chastity, and men who remember God much and women who remember God much. God has prepared for them forgiveness and a great reward. (The Noble Quran 33:35)" "And their Lord has heard them and says: 'I don't let the work of any worker be lost be they male or female. (The Noble Quran 3:195)" "The believers, men and women, are Auliya (helpers, supporters, friends, protectors) of one another, they enjoin (on the people) Al-Maroof (good), and forbid (people) from Al-Munkar (evil); they perform As-Salat (pryer) (Iqamat-as-Salat) and give the Zakat (alms), and obey Allah and His Messenger. Allah will have His Mercy on them. Surely Allah is All-Mighty, All-Wise. (The Holy Quran 9:71)" Islam is a very beautiful and fair religion to all women and men. Have a nice day =) Peace and love Yours Sincerely, Cat Stevens Note: Silly, Irrelevant, and the like, responses, posts, comments will be ignored (it depends on my mood and time if I won't ignore them), taking off the topic is losers' style, ask yourself: will you write such response if the writer wasn't a Muslim!
