Basically the title sums it up, is anyone on the stoner forum voting for McCain and if so what do you agree with him on and do you think Palin has been hurting or helping him

I haven't decided yet but from what I can tell, Obama would make it harder on lower/middle class people with taxing. There are a few other things I don't like about Obama and I'm not going to go into that right now. I'm not saying McCain is much better, but at the moment I think McCain would be the less worse candidate.

Better of Two Evils. I hate most politicians. I hate the lies and the promises that they don't keep. I agree I am not crazy about either person but I feel it is in our best intrest to have someone with more of that political experience in office. At least right now. We have an active war and a financial problem we need to take care of right now. We don't need some noob in office that has to learn how to work the system. I personally don't think that Barack will be able to put any of his ideas in place. They sound good on the surface but there are special intrests that will not let a lot of those go through. Besides I hate lawyers and Barack is just another lawyer. Even though I am largely undecided I still think Barack will win. I will be a proud American that we are able to finally have a black president, but I don't want to just because. I know he will win in his home state of Illinois so my vote does not really count either way. I should just vote Libertarian however Bob Barr is not much better. Talk about Waffleboy.

I personally prefer less government and I feel that McCain is going to go that way but I would not mind the tax breaks that Barack is talking about. However, his tax plan will drive away big business from our country and send them to countries that will give the breaks thus less jobs in our country again. I don't think that big business needs any more tax breaks but I don't think we should take them away either.

I know I hate McCain's health plan although I don't like the idea of socialized medicine either. Again special intrest groups will mess up both plans. Either way be prepared for some change there. I blame Hillary. Socialized medicine if done right would be nice however keep in mind that people from around the world come to American for the medical experience we have. Socialized medicine will change that. Trust me I would love not to have to pay for healthcare but what will we really be giving up? We really need to think this through.

I know everyone hates George Bush for the most part. I don't really like him either but you have to give him some respect. He is our President and like it or not the only way to change that is an election and well he was voted in again so we are to blame. Not that the other guy was any better. I don't think that you can really put McCain in the same field as Bush only from the aspect that McCain has way more experience than Bush or Barack combined. That is why Barack brought on Biden for his experience. It's why Bush took on Cheney. The same reason. If you want more of the same vote for Barack. Let not vote for change for change sake.

That being said. I look forward to the election. I am confident that Barack will win and I also look forward to see what he can really do. If he is able to do at least half of what he said he wants to do then good for him. I think it will change our country forever either way. I just hope for the better. I will support him as our President and I will always be a proud American.

    Well stated Jolo.

I haven't decided yet but I might pitch a vote toward McCain just because Obama sucks and Biden sucks even worse.

Not to mention that I hate lawyers. I've been screwed by them too many times. Every time the dems nominate their presidential ticket they pick a pair of lawyers. I'd have to be stoned out of my mind to vote for the elitist lawyer party.

Do you find a problem with McCain as people have been saying how the McCain running in 2008 is not the same McCain that ran in 2000 or in the past. And I kind of think that's right, like I hate Palin, but I like McCain, I was pretty happy when he won the primary over Romney. But McCain has gone quite a bit to the right to appease the Evangelical base. It's too bad, when McCain won super tuesday I still thought Hillary was going to win the Dem primaries and back then i thought well as long as McCain picks someone decent for VP I'll probably vote for him. But now, nah. But I'm not voting for Obama either. Army of people who are going to write in Ron Paul member 29,359

I dont know who to pick since they are government people. As of right now im going with Obama. McCain just seems like a air head who would probably be the next bush.

Voting for a 3rd party.. you might as well torch your ballot... there is no way enough people would vote for Ron Paul to become president..

I agree with that. McCain is definitely a different candidate now than in 2000. Politicians that change their view points because its more politically convenient don't sit well with me.

That was a big complaint that I had against Romney, Liberal as governor, conservative as a presidential candidate.

It's just a political play to wins votes. I don't like Obama but I'll give him credit for one thing, at least he's been consistant.

So I should vote for the lesser of 2 evils vs the person I actually want to vote for? No thanks.

I understand that the vote will be useless only because no where near enoguh people will vote for that party...but isn't that the beginning to creating a third major party and or adapting our current ones...although his vote will not affect the outcome of the election...could it impact the future?? Im serious I don't know if i understand this properly...

I like McCain but I'm definately voting for Obama. The idea of Sarah Palin having the number two spot scares the shit out of me. You may not like Obama because he's a lawyer, but do you realize that Palin's only degree is in journalism? If McCain's health were to take a turn for the worst, we would have a President with a degree in journalism. Does that not scare you at all? And some of her interviews show just how stupid she really is, in my opinion.

Btw a vote for a third party is in a way a vote for McCain.

well better to hopefully elect the better of the two than to completely waste your vote.. why even vote then? "we can build on the 3rd party".. oh yes.. so we can listen to you bitch about how obama or mccain got voted as president and have to deal with them for the next 4 years.. trust me.. your building a sand castle right next to the ocean.. try building it up all you want.. its gonna get washed away sooner or later.. its gonna take more than this years.. or 2012's or 2016's vote to get a dominate 3rd party.. a complete overhaul of the government is what its gonna take to get a dominate 3rd party.. so unless you plan on starting some sort of revolution.. vote for McCain or Obama.. weight the two out.. go with the better of the two.. sure it's not what you want.. but sometimes sacrafices need to be made for things to go forward

It's a federal system and my state is already secure for Obama, so I prefer to have my real message read.

I think South Park said it best....you are either voting for a Giant Douchebag, or a Turd Sandwhich....I cant see any of the candidates making our country a better place...so im not going to vote for either of them. I will vote for someone when i see they actually want to make changes...our current political system has so much bullshit, and theres so many things that can be better....USA is going downhill....
