I have developed an irregular heart beat, as in it skips a beat from time to time. Also when I am late for a meal my body feels weak. Also in general I feel a disconnect with my body.

I developed this situation after having been on a psychiatric driug called abilify for awhile. The doctor took me off the drug but I still have the symptoms described above.

A doctor prescribed for me a drug that is part of a class of drugs known as "beta blockers" for my heart condition and so far it has not helped me.

I have been tested for diabetes and the test came back negative.

Does anyone have any experience with this sort of thing? Are there any non-mainstream-medicine ways of dealing with this sort of thing?

What alternative remedies are there for this if any?

Advice of any nature would be appreciated.

Please don't ask this forum, you won't get a good answer. See a doctor of some sort. If you hate regular doctors, see a natureopath.

This forum is largely useless but if it has any merit it is in helping to maintain good health, not correct poor health.

If you haven't already had one, you need an ECG (Electro cardiogram) to identify what kind of irregular heart beat (or arrhythmia) you have. You will need to see your Doctor for this obviously. From there your Doctor may want to take some blood tests etc depending on the results of the ECG to identify the cause of the irregular heart beat, should you have one. Other tests may be necessary such as an echo cardiogram (a kind of ultrasound of your heart) or ETT (exercise tolerance test) - which involves hooking you up to a cardiac monitor while you carry out some exercise (running on a treadmill for example) in order to place a certain amount of stress on your heart necessary to induce the irregular heart beat. ETT's are a good way of testing the heart for lots of conditions, the premise being that if something is going to go wrong with the heart, it will do so under the tolerance test in a controlled environment and where it can be identified and treated safely.

Most of us miss a heart beat from time to time, but too many skipped beats can be a sign that something is upsetting the hearts natural pace maker and thus its natural rhythm. Lots of things can cause irregular heart beats, from medication to poor diet but it's always best to have these things checked out.

Of course your Doctor will be able to tell by simply taking your pulse manually if you have an irregular heart beat or not, but if you still feel the beta-blockers aren't working for you then a return visit is in order.

    Good luck.

An answer so simple you wont believe it!
Your heart will beat more regularly if you cut sugar, at the very least it will help.
