hey all, well, lets say i like phish, but i'm not a GIANT phish phan yet. anywyas, i was listenin to jesus just left chicago on the bus today, and my friend jordan took a look and he listened, and he liked. anywyas, i'm gonna make a collaboration for him tomorrow, but the question is what is a good list of songs to introduce him to? i've only heard the cd farmhouse, and things in between from billy breathes and junta, so i know a couple he'd really like, but what is a good choice for someone to become a GREAT phish fan.

You got to get a the albums picture of nectar an junta! as tracks go there are just to many, but if you have itunes go to the music store and search phish. than just cick on a song and you get a 30 second sample. You can see what songs you like from there.

I agree with everyone when I say get something from the Live Phish Series. Make sure you read the reviews before you get a particular show.

as for the songs its just a matter of taste and what kind of mood youre in.

The songs that first got me interested in Phish has probably got to be Divided Sky, Moma Dance, and Chalkdust Torture. Come stumble my mirth!

to the guy who asked if the dead and phish sound alike, they dont at all. people who dont listen to either just think so cuase they see it all as a group of people going to a concert taking drugs and that their songs are long
but they dont sound alike musically

Yeah, spend some time on www.nugs.net

Tons of phish and dead and all sorts of other good bands. Some can be downloaded for free, but most of them are just streamable.

I love Story of the Ghost as far as studio goes. Junta is great, no doubt, but Ghost is more experimental and deeper sounding than most of their silly songs, because no doubt, most of phish's songs are pretty goofy and frivelous sounding.

But yeah, theres just sooo many phish songs to choose from, just pick some shows on Nugs and hear a good variety of songs.

esther is deeper than all of them, it starts sounding like something you would here at a carnival and ends very serious and ethereal.

    i love that song
