Go to your library and order this book. It is awesome! Talks about having the mind set to always achieve and that many people are cursed with that "its too hard, takes to long, i cant make it happen soon" i Have not read the whole book, about 1/3rd of it...its very very good.

 

just was told that aprox 15o sporting dogs and their owners are doing time trials in this area next fri sat sun...they want me to keep the chickens in till after they are over about 1...

they said they will post a dude in front of my house and for me to not be alarmed...?

they looked alot like cops

 

They just know how badass your chickens can be, so they need to post some cops around to break up any chicken fights with the dogs..

If only the world worked like that... by simply changing your mindset and attitude you can acquire anything you've ever wanted.. the only reason for your misfortune is- you guessed it- yourself!

Barbara Ehrenreich wrote a book titled "Bright Sided" that's an excellent dissection of such ideologies..

If you've got a good mindset; you're likely to achieve more... thats not rocket-science...

I dont understand people who need self help books to figure this out... some dumbass is sitting on a fortunate right now, cause he wrote a book and got a bunch of naive people to go out and buy it and think all they have to do is think positively to attract success and achieve anything they want.... this is just one mans get rich quick scheme, nothing more.

Not much new here...I've been reading pretty much all day... reading is my new hobby... I shouldn't say new, cause I used to read A LOT as a kid/growing up but there was a lull the past couple years where I haven't been reading as much as I used to... I'd say this summer I turned that around Got some really powerful books I've been fortunate enough to come across, so that's played a big role in my reading revival :2thumbsup:

does anyone know how sporting dog trials even work?...from what buddy says they release the hounds with numbers on them and time how long till they get a fox or a coyote.

..dont know if they release all 150 at once...that will be mental

Why is "success" always measured by how much "money" one acquires before they die? Be it a book, new age Guru, just "common sense", or business savvy. No matter how it's achieved it always boils down to somebody's "bottom line", or "net worth" and not their ideals. You see a bum in the street and say "Well he isn't successful".... How do you know he's not? Maybe his morals are completely intact and he saw that as being more important than bowing down to the man in the big chair and doing something that wasn't quite right. Because he didn't do what his boss told him to he was fired, blacklisted and financially ruined... But his ideals are still intact. Why would that be seen as failure instead of success?

I hear you brother... so long as it stays away from that New-age "law of attraction" type self-help I'd imagine there's good things to be learned from it Can certainly be a slippery slope when it heads into "the only reason for failure is yourself" type territory though

Currently psychedelic literature has been occupying a lot of my time. I decided to polish off my McKenna collection, currently finishing the Archaic Revival and then I'll dig into True Hallucinations, and with that I'll have finished every book of his that's still in print... not many authors I can say that about. I'm thinking about trying out some Pinchbeck next, or perhaps Sheldrake (his theory of morphic resonance sounds kinda interesting)..

Right now I'm just killing time until Breaking Bad... got my girlfriend into it too, she devoured up a whole season in just a few days

On a totally random and unrelated note; I cant fucking believe it's already September... I hate this time of year, I always get those end of summer blues.. At least until we're well into the fall... at least then I can appreciate the beauty of the change...

I always miss the outdoor shows and fests during the cold months too... by June I'm itching to get back to the show\


EDIT: I totally agree, Tyron... Not sure why money and success have become synonymous for many people... perhaps its related to the introduction of capitalism to the world? Though I'm not sure... I feel like its likely a LOT older than that..

 

August just flew by... Though Im not complaining.. I much prefer the cool fall weather.. This is the time of year i like getting lost in the woods..

 

I love when summer comes to an end!
Because the hot hot heat goes away, i really like cold weather.

 

Quit saying this shyt, guys.... I don't have any form of heat in my house yet...
