I've taken a whole lot of mushrooms, and have had some extremely intense experiences....but this one I would have to say topped the list. It is a bit long, but if you're up to read it, cheers! I was in Laos and came across some shrooms...I hadn't taken any in over a year, and before then had pretty much convinced myself that I had experienced enough of psychedelics altogether, and had never really planned on ingesting anything in the future. But...I thought, oh what the hell? why not? I was alone (which is how I like to trip) and so I bought a "Special Shake" from a bar, and told the man that I would like it extra strong. So after I finished the shake, I waltzed back to my bungalow, expecting to feel the effects within a half hour or so. I was suprised when just 5 minutes later I felt the tell-tale stomach turn and giggly jitterness that usually accompanies any ingestion. By the time I got back to my nugalow, perhaps 20 minutes later, I was quite fully tripping. I laid down on my back on my bed, turn on the light in my bungalow and began to stare at the walls. As the thatch work hut began to come alive and melt away in a beautiful rhythmic flow, I knew I was in for a trip. After awhile i went and turned off the lights, and I was in near complete darkness, save for the lamp light outside in another bungalow a few meters away. It was then, when I curled up in my blanket that I was warped into a completely sperate reality from my ordinary conception of "consensus reality." Everything came alive, and was extremely sharp... the sounds of nature became an interconnected symphony of flowing, in which I can only inadequatley describe as moving in waves through tunnels made of light(not visible light, as my eyes were closed most of the time. I lost all sense of direction, my bed had long melted away, i felt no weight what so ever, but i was pulsating with the vibration of this strange new world. My limbs became jelly-like, ultimately taking on the form of these communication waves in which I was able to reach and and touch things that at the time seemed light years away. As I concentrated harder on the trip itself I was "moved" from world to world. The transitions were effortless as I concentrated intently on each new thing that came before me. After awhile I had lost all touch with consensus reality, and became what I would describe as an orb of vibration. I came across other orb beings along my transitions, and was communicating without words, and even more strangely, without thoughts, as if we (seperate but ultimately part of the same flow) were "sending" blips of information packets to one another, capable of encapsulating all of the knowledge in the know universe instantaneously. The vibe was neither benevelont nor malicious, it was just simply vibing. Eevrything vibing. I felt as if I were inbetween death and life. I was no longer "me" and nothing no longer "it." everything was just "WOMB WOMB WOMB WOMB" All the while, these intensely bright lights, occasionally multi-colored in nature, but for the most part, a shade of whitish-blueish lighting that outlined, all and connected everything with everything else. These movements were unfolding and folding back in on themselves, perfectly in sync, but brand new in desgin with each "beat". I would later associate it with characteristics of the heart, just constant pulsation, where each tube and valve ultimatley connects to the greater whole. I was in this vibrative state for what seemed what I can only describe as an infinite life span, completely seperate of the ordinary defintions of time. As I leveled back down off the trip, I was fully convinced I had been in a realm beyond time itself, as though I had been to a reality much more real than my regular experience of daily life. I was left with a feeling of innocence, and naivete, as I had been through these layers upon layers of beingness, and wasn't exaclty sure how to go about it. Had I experienced it too soon? or not soon enough? I don't know. But I had an underlying feeling that it wasn' the first time I had experienced this, nor would it be the last. Overall, it was extremely intense, and left me with an even greater respect to the mysteries of this wonder-full existence. thanks for reading...any thoughts? stories? or similar experiences? please share!!
sounds like one hell of a trip.. rock on.. you will have to tell me where i can get one of those shakes sometime lol ill possibly share some experiences tomorrow, its 4am, gotta get to sleep soon, best remembered with some good sleep.. peace
There's something alluring about the idea of buying a shake from an Asian bartender, not really knowing how strong it is, but just knowing that it's strong. It's the type of thing that seems like a terrible idea in principle, but in practice, somehow, you know you can trust the guy. Great writeup! Tell us more about Laos.
hahaha... yes, I agree. Actually something I didn't mention about that particular trip was crawling my way to the bathroom, i could barely make out the doorway, and when i was feeling with my hands it all felt the same. i felt like i had to throw up, so i was heading for the toilet i guess, and a similar thought began racing through my head. "holy shit, i just drank a mystery shake, there is no telling what the fuck was in that...what if i die? right here in this tiny bungalow, alone, in the middle of Laos?" but again, after awhile i calmed down, and poured my whole hearted trust into that bartender, and to my threshold for psychedelics. I reminded myself I was TRIPPING, and to get worried about anything in a trip simply spirals your emotions downward, so i managed to relax by the time I made it back to the womb-like comfort of my bed, blanket, and mosquito-net. But anyway...Laos...what a marvelous country. One of my favorite places I've been in the world. If you are able to get off the beaten path of travelers for awhile (of course it helps to be able to speak laos, which fortuneatly I can) it is an absolutely amazing culture and experience. Like sitting in a hut in a ricefield on a rainy day, being the only foreigner for miles around, and swigging back a bunch of rice-whiskey with the locals while eating traditional Laos fare....I love it there.
