International Workers' Day

Happy International Workers' Day, working people, dear brothers and sisters!

 

Nice. I'll be heading out to my blue collar-ish job in an hour or two.

 

But it's Sunday

 

oh yea, new episode of game of thrones tonight!!!!!

 

I'll be "celebrating" (breaking my back) by moving our entire work warehouse!

 

well i'm not big on the idea of struggle. i'm so not big on the idea of struggle i've frequently lived in poverty to avoid it.
but until we build a world in which everyone is free to create and explore without fear or anxiety,
we will have built nothing of lasting value.
rocks and trees aren't real impressed by humans trying to make everything have to be about little green pieces of paper either.

there is also another first of may. its something the celts celebrated long before rome invaded britain.

 

Celebrating Mayday went on right up to modern times, and continues even now. When I was kid in junior school, we used to have a Maypole and do the Maypole dance, alternate boys and girls interweaving coloured ribbons while dancing around the pole until it was completely encased. Probably that's a survival of some old pagan custom.

 

Nothing says Unite like the image of a fist!

 

It's no coincidence it shares the same date as the birth of the Bavarian Illuminati.

 

International workers day is on a Sunday? Someone didn't plan that well. They were probably working class.
