I am curious if there is a way to intensify your dream state. Last night i meditated before falling alseep, and that seemed to make me more concious of my dreams. I know i dream at night, i just wish i had more of a capabitly of recalling my dreams when i wake up in the morning, I belive that if there was so way for us to be able to have better dreams, we would not have to do things such as drugs, we also can learn from our dreams, so if you we could just remeber them, i think that would help also. first of all I think your right on the money meditating before you go to sleep. But in order to recall your dreams more vividly, I think if the transition from the sleep state to the "consious" state needs to be really smooth. I'm guessing maybe you could meditate when you wake up also. After a while the transition between states will slide easier, letting you recall more. I'm gonna try it.
Try and keep a dream journal. Every morning record any dreams you can remember in your journal. If you are feeling really ambitious you can wake up after 5 or 6 hours sleep. Very often just keeping a dream journal is enough to help you remember your dreams. Yes, there is a way to make your dreams more intense. It is called lucid dreaming. You become aware of the fact that you are dreaming while dreaming. In lucid you can do almost anything you want. It is the most awesome experience you can have and it is not that hard to do. Thanks alot Dalamar, are you experienced in this area of lucid dreaming? could you possibly share some personal experiences? thanks
Sorry I have been away for a few days. Yes I have a lot of experience in lucid dreaming and it is truly a way to make your dreams come true. During the time you dream if you are lucid you truly have god like powers. You can fly, breath underwater, have sex with the partner(s) of your choosing. You can summon people and things out of thin air. You can direct your dreams the way a director creates a movie. Even deeper than that you can explore yourself. You can confront and deal with things that are disturbing you.. Many have used lucid dreaming as a method of healing both physical and emotional/spiritual wounds.
I did this once, kept a dream journal and everything. But I freaked the hell out when I died in a dream, woke up instantly and swore that I was dead. The dreamworld is a tremendous place, but there's some things in there that aren't very pleasant. But I've picked it up again and I'm more creative than ever...
Yes dying in a dream can be a weird feeling but, once you know it is just a dream it is no big deal. Besides when you are lucid you are in control and you can prevent yourself from dying.
I love to dream, as we already know it's like being in a totally different world. What everyone else said is correct of course. But seeing as to how I always look for the quickest way to achieve things, I must suggest St.Johns Wort and Calea Zacatechichi. I've also heard mention of 5-htp inducing lucid or atleast more vivid dreams. I have yet to experience one using this method though. So far St.John's Wort worked the best. I noticed I also have very vivid dreams if I cheif for a few days in a row and then stop. The night that I stop my dreams are a little more vibrant. Also try reading a book or watching a movie where the focus is dreams. This worked for me with "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind".
I don’t know what that is. Reading for 30 minutes before going to sleep has been proven to increase rem sleep.
I think lucid dreams are for those who are not trying to control their own lives. The only time I had 'lucid' dreams were in 8th and 9th grade, when I was unsure of my life, doing drugs and happened to find an escape in the control of my dreams. Now that I am trying to control my own life. My LIFE is a lucid dream and my dreams are my lessons. The fears that I must confront. The symbols I must accept. The prayers I must acknowledge. Perhaps there is another level to lucid dreams. Personally, I recall one clear lucid dream where I was a god and could create everything. The dream was of my lucid imagination. I was creating everything from the state JUST before waking up. Knowing that you are dreaming, but consciously trying not to wake yourself up.
