Hello guys, I had a dream last night that was rather powerful for lack of better words, and wanted help interpreting it. This will be the first dream I have tried to have interpreted because it was that moving. So here it goes….

I started out on an island and it was heavily covered in trees, and I can’t tell who/how many others were there on the island with me, but it was almost like a tribe of a decent number. Everything was made of the trees that were located on this island and seemed pretty hunky dory till out of no where, cannon balls. Hundreds of them just falling from the sky, you could watch for them and try to avoid them but sure enough there was another one coming down where you ran to. After what seemed like a good 30 minute assault from these cannon balls(good 1000-10,000 dropped) there was peace for about 5 minutes, and much of the ‘tribe’ was dead, riddled across the ground, as well as total destruction of the trees that covered this island(must have been 2000+ trees on an island you could from coast to coast.) Then it was as if cannon balls full of tree seeds exploded over head and then the trees where there again, every last one of them. I then saw what seemed to be another ‘tribe’ that was clearly coming to kill off the rest of us who survived the brutal assault, running across the water. I was so scared I figured I’d rather kill myself then let these savages do what they will with me. So after running as far away as I could I knew there was no where to hide on an island covered in only trees, so I started to swim out into the water and desperately looked for a big enough rock to put on my chest and drown myself, but before that happened sure enough they managed to catch me and thank god, I woke up…

That concludes that crazy dream and any of you who have experience in the field of ‘de-coding’ dreams any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance guys.

Somehow I get the feeling that relates to your job. Is there an imminent job cutback coming? Is your company going to be taken over by another company (another tribe)?

It is kind of difficult without further information on some issues to really interpret this dream. I believe that all symbols in dreams are incredibly personal to you, the dreamer and only you can figure out what they mean.
If you wanted to let me know a few answers I may be able to help you more.
Firstly, how do you feel about the trees on the island and the basic level of living and survival displayed there. Is it something you aspire to? Or a way you would want to live? how did you feel at this beginning part of the dream? Did it relate to any part of your waking life, the way you felt?
Secondly, were you a distant observer or were you one of the tribes people?
Why were cannonballs falling? Were you in a different time to now? Was it a few hundred years ago?
Thirdly, the second tribe who came into kill you, what were they like? Did they come after you? How did the other tribe make you feel in the dream?
Fourthly, why was the only option to kill yourself? How did this prospect make you feel? Did you not want to try and escape?

I have so many questions because I really want to help you uncover the meaning to this dream.
I believe in a vague sense that this dream could mean that you feel like the peace and tranquility and "baseness" ie. the basic level of a situation has been destroyed and attacked on two levels by some unknown force, unless you knew in the dream who was attacking you.
And you feel there is no way out of this situation, which results in the dream with you wanting to killing yourself, however this doesn't seem to be an easy task what with you having to search for the right size rock.
I would ask you this, what situation in your life do you feel was all hunky dory and then out of nowhere you felt like the peace was destroyed and you were under attack? Where you feel there is no way out other than to take back control of your destiny, as symbolised in the dream by you wanting to kill yourself?
Perhaps you want to answer the questions and I can help you a little more :)
Just so you know if you wanted to learn how to interpret your dream yourself, I get all my dream related info from a site called www.realmeaningofdreams.com. This site has helped me a lot in learning how to recognise the connection between what you dream and your real life situations. if you are interested in learning to interpret your dreams take a look!

an island heavily covered in trees, and the first tribe:
the island: to some extent you've been detached and/or isolated and/or "on your own" in some way; the cover of trees and the 1st tribe: family support and protection of childhood.

out of no where, cannon balls destroy the trees:

reminded me of puberty --- might be reflecting the inner disruption of sexual maturing and anxieties that accompany becoming more adult, or perhaps just the disruption and inner chaos that comes with any new phase of inner transformation.

The new savage tribe chases you into the water:

Unfamiliar territory -- inner and/or outer --- new social networks, new aspects of your own psyche push you to enter unfamiliar emotional “waters” .

You’re looking for a rock in the water to drown yourself:

You might be self-destructing to some extent in real life without realizing it. You may be using something or someone or some situation as a “rock” --- as something that feels solid --- in order to “drown” fears/anxieties about inner and outer changes going on in your life.

    Savages:

wild parts of your own psyche that seem beyond your control because you don’t yet know their “language” --- parts of your psyche that don’t necessarily respond to “logic”.

    the new tribe catches you:

This new part of yourself does not let you self-destruct – it does not let you “drown” yourself with the “rock” (something that feels comfortingly “solid” and “tangible" but that would ultimately pull you down). What a great dream! Thanks - I had fun thinking about it!
