desperately grasping to argue with you? i could care less, i just find this really amusing. you claim that you see more good come out of it than evil, when all these innocent civilians are being killed for what? freedom? bullshit. that isnt freedom, thats amerika deciding what is best for the planet. sure freedom is great, but at the cost of all these people? thats bullshit man, those innocent civilians were not going to be killed by Saddam if they just minded there own business, which is what many of them were doing.
Bin Laden didnt have a history of organizing terrorist attacks when he was young either. this is genocide. there are terrorist groups in amerika who are capable of attacking this country, and yet the U.S. isnt trying to find them like they are "looking for" Osama.

You're sheer arrogance is just baffling to me. Most of what you have said is just repeating What I have already refuted. Are you incapable of looking past civilians dieing? Are you really that dense? America deciding the fate of the planet? Ok lets let Iraq decide what is best for them. Oh wait, they couldn't! That is why we are giving them freedom so that they can decide their future. So you say that those Iraqis wouldn't have been killed? Some would have, some wouldn't have. But they all would have lived oppressed. And so would their children. And their children's children.
Wow I can't believe you missed the point of your own anology. The point was that saddam had a history of terrorism and my future children (or me) do not. So that is why we would kill saddam and not me or my children. Sounds like common sense to me. And where are these terrorists groups in America? Can you show me? Wherever they are I can assure you they have the FBI and CIA on their tails. Hey did you know that there is a special branch in the FBI designed for counter terrorism in America? I'll bet you didn't! Hooray you learned something new today!

I love your words, Lick....most of us in her agree with what you are saying.

Hey y'all.....if you haven't signed up to be on Kerry's website/e-mail list, please do so because there are alot of "events" happening that will put you in touch with fellow Dem's/Progressives/Real People. I just received an invitation to watch the Dem. Convention with fellow Dem's, and me living in a totally Rebub. state/county (Georgia) find this so refreshing that there are some folks close by that believe the same way I do!!

Stop sittin' and cryin' in your beer over fuck-Bush!!! Sign up on the website and share a beer with a fellow American that believes the way you do!!! They're out there!! We just need to connect with each other!

I second that. Unfortunately there are a few very vocal self-congratulatory ideologues whose appearance in every single thread which raises complications with their blinkered worldview is so predictable as to have become extremely boring. And whose entrenched dogma allows only for a paroxysm of unthinking ideological spasm rather than an open, constructive engagement with a subject ... mere drones working to a script.

None of the casualty counts are correct in this war. Many civilians are not being counted simply because it is not our priority, and the counts of our own dead soldiers are inaccurate because they dont count the guys who die in military hospitals-only the ones out in the field. Too many dead guys on 'our side' would really decrease morale.

And I think we all know that Osama is going to magically 'turn up' just before the election...if it even happens with all this talk of postponing/cancelling the whole damn thing.

So I'm confused now...do you not like your freedom? Do you not appreciate all those men that dies for your freedom? Lot's of inocent people died then too. On D-day over 70k French people died within 2 days. Perhaps we should have ignored the cries for help to save those 70k people only so Hitler could have killed them later. Do you think our government want's civilians to die? Do you think they are plotting on wich city to bomb that will give them more child deaths than the last? Get over yourself. Anyone can pick up a dictionary and learn big words, that doesn't make them smart. Lastly to you, I say lets pull out of Iraq right now, lets stop helping other nations. Cut off all ties. Oh, and so no more civilians die ever again, lets stop going after the "bad guys" in our own country...cause you know, lot's of inocent people die when police try to get one bad guy that will kill more people. We will just ask him to come into the office when he has time.

And now, on to the Kerry supporters. KERRY VOTED IN FAVOR OF THE WAR! Oh, and him being president wont end the war, nor will it make terrorist stop attacking us. As I recall, and history shows us, there is always some evil bastard somewhere. But it's all Bush's fault right?

the problem with your argument here is that saddam was not a threat to our freedom, the patriot act was.

For those of you who fully support the war...

Look at it from a different standpoint. Say that Bush gained the status of a dictator, went insane, and started killing Americans. Then some other country, doesn't matter which one, decides they need to "liberate" us. In the liberation process to "get" Bush, your family is carelessly destroyed by foreign ammunitions as a "price of war."

Now I'm sure you wouldn't be upset that your family is now "collateral damage" because, hey, at least you would be "free."

well, actually, from that standpoint, i would be for the war. is my family brutally murdered now by a dictator with no hope of ending the misery, of is my family destroyed with the hope of a better future. either way it hurts, but at least in the second option there's still hope for others.
