I think the government has better things to do than sit around watching a normal internet message board, that has people of ALL political ideologies. It's not like they haven't heard the liberal side of arguments before...and if they're just waiting for someone to threaten to shoot the president, they'd probably have better luck on a Mideastern message board, or one designed specifically for political extremists. I don't see any motive for the government to spy on this message board...especially since the board is open to everyone anyway.
you would think . . . lol anyways, right wing people are people too and they share some of the same joys in life that we do. The best way we will all come out of all this mess is to truly love our "enemies" and to inform the informants that we want nothing but true equality. Ignorance may not be the fault of the fool. Knowledge will bring liberation. So thanks for this bit of knowledge, but lets keep informing people of their true rights as well, before they are all taken away... good post!

That's not true; I watched on CNN sometime before the election, that some guy was arrested for saying on a forum that he wanted to kill Bush. dun dun duuuunnnnn.

first off, those stupidly fraternal-like replies would in fact be the sort of responses informants would reply with (if you understand frat-humor, anyway). That, and how 3 people ate up the thread with so many responses...like bugs to a light. But that alone proves nothing. There's no way to know for sure. I was just offering it up as a possiblity, because this site has been plagued with unrelenting rightwing "agitators" for years. And to choose labels here correctly, they're provocateurs. This stuff is old news...it happened in the 60s and 70s. It started again after Seattle. They're tactics can only go so far before resorting to darker methods. I'm lucky to have grown up with a countercultural veteran from the 1960s to know about this kinda stuff. Plus I've seen countless movies and documentaries about counter/revolutionary culture (it's not terrorism, folks...by any stretch). Kandahar, I guess you havent' seen Fahrenheit 9-11. Please watch it...there's a too-short scene that talked about an informant who infiltrated an obviously-peaceful anti-war group (comprised of mostly all-american, middle-aged looking people). I can understand the higher-ups motives for doing it, of course. What I can't understand is the actual people who do it. I mean, they have to know that these people are completely non-violent and only want to change policies. lol, they're probly getting paid a lot. But more important, this is a political war, and I don't doubt that 99.5% of the "war on terror" is completely covert and targetted against progressive activists and dissidents worldwide (who have a greater influence on the world than religious fanatics would ever hope to). So many people have expressed this, albiet, under hushed tones, and still others, loud and clear. what do ya think lucy? and others with half a brain.
