As India is a CLC (cheap labour country) and as on the same time zone, there are many telmarketers that operate of the country to service Australia. I quite often get these telemarketers calling me on the worst telephone line imaginable that I can barely understand what the person is saying trying to get me to switch phone companies. You would think that they would call on a decent phone line if they wanted me to switch. What I usually do is is tap my knuckle on the table and say there is someone at the door. Five minutes I come back and they are not there.
We get them here too...especially when trying to reach any sort of mega-company customer support. It's hopeless.
