This is a country of violets,
of horses the color of day
    and animals with moon-shaped eyes
    restless in the shallow heat

a girl is picking aloe leaves, one by one
they give in to her hands-
    strange fabric of roses
those same hands that have smoothed
    a dozen mountains
and removed the armor of stillness from an hour
    steep with sun

dreams count the time they are asleep behind her voice

LOVE that line. As well as the last one. Very serene. Great visual.
