Is it okay to burn incense if you have a cat? I was burning incense earlier tonight and I noticed my kittie's eyes were all watery and her nosy was runny. I like my incense. But I like my kittie more, lol.
Well my cat has no problems like that with incense, but she doesn't like smoke. She backs away from it... Try moving them higher and farther away from her... like on a bookshelf so the smoke isnt right in her face... Or try to onlykeep them lit for a few minutes (just enough so you can smell it but your not smoking out the room). If her eyes and nose are still runny i wouldnt burn them anymore....
She might just be going through some kind of cold or sinus thing, unrelated to the incense. My cat had that - her eyes had little crusties all around the edges, and she looked all puffy and squinty and sleepy. (Who knew a cat could look sleepy?) And her nose was a little runny. I was worried, but then she got better on her own after about 2-3 days. You can try not burning incense for a few days and see if it goes away.
