In defense of....an Otterly opinion.

After alot of thinking and research..I have decided that as a woman who is an activist for worldwide women's rights.(and I mean actual women's rights...like the right to leave your home without male permission..not just the right to whine.lol)...That female soldier from those pics...should be declared a heroine for women worldwide.

and before you get all pissy....here's why.


We saw a smiling woman soldier in those pics...she had prisoners on leashes and stuff.

we call it torture....but did any of you actually think about the guys whom this woman was walking like a dog???


these guys were born and live in a culture that treats women like shit.they stone women for things like showing their face in public, they sell girl children off as sex slaves to Asian countries and rich old Middle Eastern men.


these men belong to the most oppressive culture(towards women)in the world.

In their culture(as a whole)women cannot vote,most cannot read, they arent allowed to even grocery shop without a male escort or written permission from their fathers,brothers,or husbands,women cannot choose whom they marry,it is legal to publically(and privately)beat women,stranger or relative,to the point of death...and it is legal to kill them for any reason on grounds of "honor".


Many follow the beliefs of the Ayatollah keimeni. he wrote in his book that it is ok to have sex with small children and babies as long as it is sodomy so as to not break the maidenhood for that is the right of the husband.



As far as I'm concerned....one of these misogynist bastards lands in the hand of a woman....he's damn lucky to only be forced to wear women's panties and walk on a leash.

I would have castrated him in revenge for all the women he probably beat or the sister he probably killed to protect "family honor".


It probably sounds harsh to you....maybe the men soldiers had little excuse...but I cant fault a sister for following the primal urge to humiliate a guy raised to see her and treat her lower then a sewer rat.

I probably would have done the same. I would have made them wash my feet and address me as the Queen.

 

Alot of what you said is propaganda bullshit. How do you know if some of those men were just captured trying to protect their country? Do you really think those Muslim men agree with having sex with babies?
Have you been to Iraq? I have been to a couple of Arab countries including Iraq. You would be suprised at the truth. Not every Arab man is like that. Yes there are the extremist assholes, but there is also plenty of good men who love and respect there families!

Shame on you for saying it is okay for a woman to do that. If anything a woman would have no place in her goddess soul to torture/degrade other human beings.They to once had a woman as a mother.
What happened to those detainees IF anything is of EVIL MALE MINDSET that has corrupted this world. People were raped in there! Including a woman! A man was forced to smear shit all over himself, and eat out of toilets! That soldier woman had sex in front of the soldiers! Even if those men had abused women, or shot Americans they do not deserve that. It is just contributing to the endless cycle of hate and terror.

Iraq has been the only real "secular" state in the entire middle east - prior to American invasion, Iraqi women enjoyed a status far closer to equality than anywhere else in the middle east. Clearly, this doesn't change the fact that Saddam was a brutal dictator, but this wasn't based in religion (like most of America's ALLIES in the middle east). He was known for torturing and murdering Muslim fundamentalists, not following their theories. Women had the right to divorce, mandatory education was the norm for ALL citizens - male or female, and Iraqi women made up a large part of the workforce. Most Iraqi doctors were WOMEN. There was no mandatory religious dress for Iraqis, and many women went without headscarfs (not to mention without burquas). This has only recently changed with the installation of an "america-friendly regime," which apparently is NOT "friendly" to women's rights - this regime has already suggested removing women's right to divorce and initiatives to reduce the number of women in the workforce. Also, prostitution and distribution of pornography have appeared in Baghdad for the first time in years, thanks to American occupation.

I'll also remind you that there have been hundreds of WOMEN who have been abused by Americans in Iraqi prisons - and charges of rape (including gang rape) are common. I guess we should "cheer" American soldiers for that as well? Further, women and children have been killed by the thousands in Iraq.

I pray to god you are JOKING about praising these disgusting EXCUSES for women in these photographs, just trying to get a rise out of people. Because if you are serious, you are a PATHETIC example of a "women's rights activist."

the point is..we are bteter than that......we want to put an end to torture and that shit in iraq, not continue it. Yes there are people who need to be tortured. No these are not the ones to be torturing. These are the ones that we should be kissing ass for so that they reject radical islam and turn towards democracy. The more we do and the more we act like saddam..the more radical the country will become. This is NOT what we want. While i do not approve of the way women are treated in most islamic countries, we dont correct the wrongs by humiliating the men. We act civially and show them that this is how a civilized person acts and that will help bring about a better life for women. We will only make the lives of women worse by continuing the torture culture.

well, otter's post is an intersting take on the psychology of an enraged woman placed in a position of power over men. then given permission, even encouraged, to abuse them. i honestly think that if it had been my mother, some of those men would be dead by now.

 

I think Otter you went a little to far in excusing the humiliation of these Iraqi men. I know the amount of suffering caused by men and inflicted upon women in the middle east is probably greater than we can ever imagine, but that wouldn't excuse our soldier's behavior in the prison.
