Been hearing this phrase a lot, in songs and in regular speech. Makes it sound like it's something you "put on" Any wordsmiths out there - or otherwise - like to jump in here? Maybe a better phrase in sentences?
With bare feet. People say in your bare feet, aren't we always in our bare feet though even when they are covered. You can't get out of them.
I think it equates bare soles with foot wear. We would say "wearing high heels" or " in cowboy boots." So "in bare feet" is simply conforming to linguistic habit. And likely fits the meter in a song.
