I'm looking for music that is totally improvised to listen. It can be from any genre, any instrument, from any country in the world, from any era in history, I just want to listen to some improvisation. Thanks, Peace
Yes! go to www.last.fm go to Listen type in Ali Akbar Khan or Zakkir Hussain and prepare to have your mind blown. When you improvise like this, your Kundalini gets very excited because you are flowing, and your gears start turning, and all the stagnant energy is replaced. Divine
ZILLA (EOTO is a Zilla side Project....also very good!) But imo, Zilla is better. Jamie Janover is THE greatest musician to walk the earth...check them out at www.zillamusic.com you can dl some free tracks there and listen to their albums for free...if your thinking about buying any, i would go with Egg or All Iz (they are both epic). Or you can dl some free live stuff off archive.org as well....but they dont write songs, all they play is improv and they arent even classifiable in any genre....but if anything, i would say they are like electronic/jam/ethnic/world beat/funk/experimental
Cosmic jokers- 70's German space rock improvised under the influence of lsd Ash ra tempel- 70's German space rock Klaus Schulze- 70's German cosmic/minimalist electronic Fushitsusha- Japanese noise rock Godspeed you black emperor- post rock The best improvised song I have ever heard is Amon Duul II's 24 minute masterpeice Yeti, from their album of the same name. Also 70's german lol.
Thank you all! My goal is to find inspiration for my own improvisation. I love improvising, and sometimes you gotta expand your horizons!
Improvising is so natural. When I play guitar I improvise most of the time. I think if you try to hard to compose great music, then the music gets raped and it looses a certain flare.
Strangely, the best improvisations i felt where when I was playing for listeners, I don't know why, but I just feel more inspired than when I'm just alone in my room. Maybe I connect to the listener better than with myself...? I guess each personnality influences your improvisation.
I don't think you need to hear improvisations of other musicians to help you gain inspiration for improvising....Just feel your own music!..
