http://www.tenthdimension.com/medialinks.php Well, check out the video and let us know what you think I don't get why some of the dimensions are points, lines, branches or folds. if the 4th dimension is a line to us, then the 5th dimension should be a line to the 4th dimension, etc. The main thing that gets me is where is the proof that any higher or lower dimensions exist? Can we even have a point or line of indeterminate size in reality? We can imagine one but I think we'd always see it as arbitrarily small. if the line of indeterminate size existed, how could we manipulate it (bend it so the ends meet)? it would be so small that it would pass through our hands etc. I don't think that these lines physically exist, so even if we traveled to the 4th or 5th dimension, we could not manipulate 3rd dimension time because the timeline is of indeterminate size, it would be like trying to bend air.
there are 12 dimensions I also found this listed on another forum as a great one to watch, but it's 3 hours long apparently it says there are 11 dimensions http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/nova/elegant/program.html I'm pretty sure there are 12 though(I'm basing that completely on instinct and have no supporting evidence whatsoever)
and of course this which supports 11 as well(and m theory) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/String_theory
There are only 7 dimensions dood. We live in the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. Thata why they call it 3d. 1st dimension is light. 5th dimension is where you go when you die, to reflect on your past life, and to make karmic plans for your next one. in the 6th dimension you begin to lose the restrictions of duality consciousness, leading up to the 7th dimension. Which is complete and total reunification with the Creator.
http://www.infinitebeing.com/0509/12dimensions.htm http://www.bibliotecapleyades.net/ciencia/ciencia_dimensiones01.htm ^^if you want to go on the creation path.... I personally question that, but nonetheless it supports my 12 dimensions
well they are talking about bending it through another dimension, so to people in the line dimension it still looks like a line.
I enjoyed Kaku's Physics of the Impossible and he touched on dimensions a bit, so I might have to pick that one up
Yeah i'm getting through it slowly. I suggest to other people reading Pickover's book first as he really sets out the basic ideas simply and builds on that.
I found it interesting how it was explained that we percieve the 4th dimension in the same way someone in the 2nd dimension would perceive the 3rd dimension, it made me realize something about physics ive never realized before
