I'm sorry I ever called scientology a cult.

After I watched these excellently produced video testimonials by actual scientologists I asked myself how could I have ever thought that scientology was really just a brain-washing UFO cult. Srsly, watch these and revel in their ultra high production values and totally not insane dialogue.

Hmm, sounds kind of like the deluded ramblings of acid casualties and 13 year olds who just discovered salvia....

i read stranger in a strange land before i read dianetics.
i also had some scientologist neighbors who were rather annoying
though not particularly more so then just as annoying followers of other beliefs.

i mean look, scientology is just capialism packaged as belief.

if you read hienline's stranger in a strange land it becomes easy to understand this.

i don't need to bash someone else's belief to recognize that it doesn't interest me and i don't need it. i don't need the crutch of having to bash anything.
while i simply have no love for it, i also fail to see the point of throwing stones.

if anything, making martyrs, even living martyrs, of anything, is the surest way to insure others will be attracted to it, the way moths are attracted to flame.

it makes no sense to bash scientology if you love capitalism.
as much as it makes no sense to love capitalism, if you hate scientology.

fortunately for me, i neither lover nor hate either of them,
but would completely not miss either if both were to completely go away.

This video is about ten years old. It's over twenty minutes long but it shows the basics of what the scientologists will go through during their early indoctrination in the course room.
