People saying schrooms are just food poisoning. And then when you correct them they never believe you.

I am over trying to educate the uneducated know it all's... If they are not willing to learn, they don't deserve to know.

lmaoo superiority is something that only happened for each indivdual during this age of brain powerness. Before that only pahroahs and kings and other blessed individuals were given the almighty right to govern their hells in a state of total bliss thatd come to a plumting, sometimes frightening crash when their empire would be threatened or even burned to the ground. Some shrooms are infact food poisoning, however the ones that dealers deal out i doubt are posioness. That quite possibly might be bullshit.

The person who gave me my first mushrooms told me, "you can't do these too much because they are poisoning you".

Actually, all forms of mushrooms are poison to the liver. Even the mushrooms that they sell at the grocery store. They're all toxic on various levels.

 

Granted that may be true. But what I'm saying is different. It's come up in conversation a lot of times how schrooms aren't on drug tests, and someone always says well that's cause there's no drug in schrooms, it's just food poisoning that makes you trip. Guess they never heard of psilocybin.

 

Psilocybin would be the chemical that eventually metabolizes into a trip, but who is to say a trip isn't the result of poisoning in the first place?

 

I am. No just kidding, but haven't people taken pure psilocybin before and tripped off that.

 

And with what credentials are you qualified to make such a statement?

They use pure psilocybin pills in the MAPS psilocybin studies. It is psilocybin that causes the effect.


About psilocybe mushrooms being poisonous, I usually just note to such people that caffeine is more toxic than psilocybin.

I find it really ironic because most people who say psilocybe mushrooms are poisonous are usually big fans of alcohol. Which alcohol IS a poison. The only recreational drug more toxic than alcohol I think is tobacco. It's a cultural cognitive dissonance.

 

It isn't the psilocybin in the mushrooms that is poisonous though. It is secondary metabolites that are produced in the fungal cells. And caffeine isn't as toxic as mushrooms.

 

Can I see a source for this? I know most mushrooms are not to good for you if you don't cook them, but this is not because they are toxic.

Yes, its not psilocybin that will poison you, it poison that will poison you. A mushroom must contain a good amount of poison before it is considered poisonous? What poison are you referring to?

This just untrue, and again Id like to see a source if you have one.
