I may not agree with every position he has taken but I think he's spot-on on most of what he's said. People in the US want to complain about putting Christ back in Christmas. The Pope is trying to put Christ back in Christian. I'm not a Christian but I applaud him for it and I'm becoming quite a fan of him. It's about damn time someone like him gets to lead the way! http://www.addictinginfo.org/2013/12/11/pope-francis-quotes/
I'm impressed that he lived in an apartment, drives an old car and cooks his own meals. He seems down to earth.
Yup. I think he's done a lot of unexpected things. Replacing the Popes gold throne with a wooden chair, dressing as a regular priest and going to be with the poor and homeless at night, etc. Good stuff!
I'm no fan of the papacy at all but that might be partly because there weren't a lot of popes like this one
The main objective of the pope is to promote one world government/religion, so at this point they need someone who appears to be a man of the people, to draw people back into getting behind the Catholic church and the agenda it promotes. They use the Pope much the way they use certain politicians who have the outward appearance of being likeable. I don't buy it for a minute. Anyone who serves the Vatican is no friend of mine. Image means nothing to me when all you know about the person is what the media has lead you to believe. People are too easily sold on outward appearances. Besides, the Pope is just a front anyway. He is a facade, much the way the office of the presidency is a facade. The people in control at the Vatican know that image is everything when it comes to the Pope. But the Pope might be the greatest man in the world -- it doesn't mean the people behind him are. It doesn't make up for the fact that the Vatican is an evil, insidious institution.
Years of reading about the Vatican and its history, studying its ancient, occult symbolism, and hearing things the Pope (the current one and others) has stated openly. These days all you hear coming from the Pope is talk of wealth redistribution, which is pretty much the same rhetoric you hear coming from government. It makes sense they would seek a "humble" Pope during these times, who has the outward appearance of being a humanitarian and a man of the people. They need people to get behind the powers that be, and religion is just one of the ways of getting people to capitulate.
off topic but if one world government is the ultimate goal of the government and the Catholic church, and if one of the goals of a one world government is a redistribution of wealth, why did we spend the last 100 years fighting communism and establishing capitalism as our economic god?
Because that is what they want you to believe. Behind the scenes the capitalists and communists have always been in league with one another, as has been pointed out by professor Antony Sutton, who has shown with state department documents that American "capitalists" funded the rise of Communism in Russia. It's no different than how we funded Islamic extremism and al-Qaeda, because you must always create an enemy if you don't have one. Free market capitalism doesn't really exist, and it really never has. What we have today is a hybrid of capitalism and socialism, and things are becoming increasingly socialistic as time progresses and the government seeks to grab more power and wealth from the people.
Amen to that, sir. Pope Francis is just a facade -- nothing more. Images of powerful people are manufactured for a reason. Unless you have met the man, you don't really know him. And even if he was as great as the media portrays him to be, it doesn't mean he is anything more than a puppet. The real power behind the Catholic church doesn't lie with the Pope, but behind him. Most people don't even know about the Jesuits and the OTO. Most people don't even realize that the symbolism found in the Vatican goes back to the pagan sun rituals of ancient times. There is nothing "holy" about it. The Vatican is the most evil, wretched institution on this entire planet.
When you pry the old, dusty cap off of Catholicism, you would be shocked about some of the things that they believe. I think years back to CCD and am truly in awe at the things they taught me. The church and it's power have truly fallen from grace (). I think more and more people are seeing through them. People just don't have a need for the regimented rules, the idol worship, the repetitive prayer. It used to give people a sense of belonging and community, but now people are seeking it elsewhere. When I think about my grandparents, and their parents...the Pope and the church played an integral part in their lives. Every ritual from birth to death was dictated by the church. From baptism to burial. As the Vatican loses grasp of its followers, I can see it desperately grappling with reversing this reality. But the pews continue to become more and more empty every Sunday.
Good points, people. I'm not saying I support the church in any way or even disagreeing with the points being made. It's just nice to hear a new message from them....even if it is all orchestrated.
I can't say that doesn't make sense. I have issues believing in new world order conspiracies, mainly because I don't have that much faith in mankind. I think the capacity for evil is there, but the organization and forward thinking required to pull off a massive conspiracy is lacking. Humans are mainly a foolish, short sighted species. I haven't done much research though, if I'm be ing honest. You could be right.
The title of the list of quotes is "30 quotes from Pope Francis Conservatives hate. You could build an equally log or longer list of quotes liberals and catholics hate. It is only a matter of time for the left media and nominal catholics to turn on him. A number of these must also be taken in context and are more nuanced than at face value. http://theweek.com/article/index/25...-trickle-down-economics-but-he-isnt-a-liberal Correction: a lot of these have bee said for a while. https://www.commondreams.org/headline/2013/01/01-4 "Conservative" Benedict XVI on the harm "unfettered capitalism" can do. NB: unfettered capitalism (Francis' words) does not really exist. What is wrong with discipline, venerating our holy brothers and sisters and asking for their prayers, and using set prayers to focus and meditate on the mysteries of the faith?
Matthew 6:7 - But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen [do]: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking. other version “And when you pray, do not heap up empty phrases as the Gentiles do, for they think that they will be heard for their many words. Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him."
Edit: PM sent. Off topic discussion. If these three aspects of the faith are the ones keeping you from full communion, why are you making this mole hill into a mountain to die on (to mix two sayings)?
