Hello! My username refers to my YouTube channel, but you can call me Daniel or Dan. I first learnt about the hippie movement through being a fan of the Beat Generation writers. I've read Jack Kerouac's "On The Road" but I'm more interested in the work of Allen Ginsberg and William S Burroughs. I think that Allen's poems are extraordinary and reading Burrough's "Naked Lunch" has actually induced some weird, temporary fits of joy in me where I suddenly felt love for everyone and everything. I also like the work of Charles Bukowski but I've never agreed with people lumping him into the Beat Generation "movement." I guess that over the past few months (maybe 6 months or so) I've consciously become quite interested in the sort of clothing that people wear at hippie festivals. Besides the fact that I think these clothes look wonderful, this interest was sparked by my need to buy less black clothes as I used to be very into heavy music and so I only really used to own band t-shirts and a few "gothic" looking items. I'm also a big fan of music and modern art, but this post is getting quite long already. Cheers for reading it. It would be cool to get to know some new people on here that are around the same age as me (eighteen.) :daisy:
