The recipe calls for a cup of vegetable oil. I don't have vegetable oil, I was wondering what you would use in substitution for oil? I need it to cook the Chicken in the frying pan.

I've heard of using butter, I just don't know if that would be just as effective.

A whole cup of oil! Wooooooeeeeeee.

Go for butter, I suppose, unless it's cooked at a very, very high heat... The milkfat in the butter can burn very easily. You might want to try a light olive oil too (not extra virgin though... also burns easily).
