My hubby and I may be moving in to my inlaw's house come April.... so we're starting to make some plans of some renovations we'd like to do to make it our own...

There are 4 bedrooms, and since we're only using one... I get to convert one to a meditation room! I'm going to stalk it with candles and incense, some of my spiritual statues, a cd player with some music... remove the door and put up a beaded curtain... it's got an amazing window so I'll be filling it with plants... and I'd love to paint it but I'm torn between two colours that I love.. so help me pick!

I wouldn't pick red, red causes anger
blue makes you think you look old, so stay away from that... if ya want to anyways :p

Every room you enter becomes a porn room. Look where these forums went ever since you arrived.

:) kewl... lol... I've been thinking about a whole bunch of different colours, but the living room is already blue and kitchen is yellow... so I'd like something to contrast that a bit... plus I love both purple and red....

I say purple however you could make it really funky and do both colors. The room will have a feel all of it's own.

A meditation room sounds awesome. Can I assume your in-laws are no longer living there?

out of your choices i'd pick purple, it has a higher energy, more of a crown chakra colour. :D

My advice would be to check out the psychological/physical effects of the colors you like and maybe also the magical meaning.. plus make sure you include objects of the opposite color so you're eyes don't go crazy after a while (like why ER's are mostly greenish because if you stare at red (blood) for a long time and you'd look at a white wall, you'd see green spots.. since the walls/clothes are already greenish your eyes stay 'calm').. choose from there..

    ah, everyone's voting purple....

on one hand, purple is that crown chakra (thanks nimh for reminding) but on the other hand red is very lucky in many parts of the world... still torn...
  14. i would say purple. defiantly a light/soothing purple... more like a violet, IMO.

maybe contrast it with some red objects...

good luck and great idea. im glad you're gonna have the extra room for it!

i voted red, but if i would choose any color for a meditation room, it would be green.

you don't see much colour in mental health facilities... much white!

I have a fountain to put in the room... and a lava lamp and a couple plants.. I've already most of the items to put in the room, it's just a matter of having the room...
