MAGA crowd, you know if you are convicted of a felony in the US, in most places you can't vote or be a doctor or lawyer. But you certainly can't hold public office. Governor or mayor. I am a little confused why that rule doesn't apply to president. I do know, the 14th Amendment says if, like the South, you insurrect against the US, that will forever disqualify you from all office, president too. And Trump did do that. And no, he wasn't convicted because they were being unfair to him. If anything, all his life people have been letting him get away with too much crap. If he was poor, his life would have been ruined by his first drug conviction.
Nothing in the constitution prevents felons or rapists from being president. But regardless, in the past the U.S. had a certain level of morals and ethics. We have none now. The country wants a dictator who doesn't have to abide by the law, just look at the supreme Court decision that grants the president unlimited power and exemption from the law. Anything to get their way, laws and morals be damned.
