ive seen a friend win thousands of dollars in the lottey and not give a single dime to their closest relatives and friends. their some mean sons of bitches in this world let me tell you.

You are so right, I mean how could those friends and family be so mean to think that they deserved any of his good fortune. I mean did they buy his ticket for him. You mean that feeling of sticking a knife in your back while tearing out your wallet and stealing your money or the feeling of not being able to buy them shoes becuase you handed the money out to another just so that other person could trash ya?
What about when you don't get any lifting or positive feeling at all from doing nice things for people? I'm pretty self-centered. Whether someone likes me, or dislikes me, or thanks me or shuns has absolutely no effect on me nowadays; I'm completely indifferent and simply do not care.
That is a guilty confession and it really is a horrible way to live, be and carry on through life. And yet, Yep, you and everyone else on this planet. Heck, even those of us who do 'lift fingers for another' are probably doing it for some gain, social rewards or hope for return. Indeed, almost everyone could make that confession, at least some of the time.
I know that feeling only too well. That's what running (& paying for) this site is all about at times...
